City Awarded Transportation Innovation Grant!

The City’s Ride-On Tri-City! program was recently awarded a multi-year grant from the Alameda County Transportation Commission to provide on-demand accessible rides for Tri-City residents who use wheelchairs. The project, targeted for launch in July 2025, will fill a critical service gap and ensure that community members who use wheelchairs have equitable transportation options for health care, shopping, and other daily needs. The city will receive $500,000 to pilot the service for 2 years, with the option for additional funding if the project is successful.

If you are a community member who uses a wheelchair or a caregiver to such person, Ride-On Tri-City! would like to solicit your feedback regarding the design of the new on-demand accessible service. To participate, please contact us at 510-574-2053 or rideontricity@fremont.gov.

Ride-On Tri-City! provides over 45,000 rides each year to seniors and people with disabilities living in Fremont, Newark, and Union City. For transportation help, call 510-574-2053 or visit: city.fremont.gov/rideontricity.

Ride-On Tri-City! receives Measure B/BB funds through the Alameda County Transportation Commission. For more info, visit: alamedactc.org/.

Meals Go Up $0.50 July 1st

Lunches prepared by culinary trained chefs at Lake Side Café and Bay Side Bistro provide an opportunity for participants to enjoy tasty, nutritious cuisine in the good company of others, without the hassle of grocery shopping, cooking, and doing dishes.

The City does their best to keep prices affordable. However, to stay in line with inflation and increased costs, prices go up every other year by $0.50. These modest increases allow the Age Well Centers to continue to provide quality cuisine for years to come for everyone’s enjoyment and fulfillment. Effective July 1st, lunch prices will be increased by $0.50. For members, regular meals will cost $6.50 and for non-members $8.50. Special meals will cost members $7.50 and non-members $9.50. A pack of five frozen meals will now be $23 for members and $27 for non-members. Thank you in advance for your continued support and understanding.
