Giving Hope to a Family!

Story Card

Family Name (modified for privacy): Jones Family

Family Story: Julio is a 2 ½ year old boy who receives services from the Regional Center due to developmental delays. Julio also has two siblings who have been diagnosed with learning disabilities and ADHD. Julio’s mother is not working at this time to support her children with school work, attend IEP meetings, and doctor appointments. His father is the sole provider. Unfortunately with bills and the increase of their rent, the family at times is unable to meet their basic needs. This time of the year becomes overwhelming for the parents because they aren’t able to provide Julio and his siblings with winter clothing or a Christmas most parents want to give to their children. The support would be a blessing to the family by reducing Julio’s father and mother’s stress. Giving to the family will also remind them that they are not alone and live in a loving, caring, and supportive community. Thank you in advance for your generosity. Giving Hope to a Family!

Story Card

Family Name (modified for privacy): The “U” Family

Family Story: The U family is a loving, committed, and warm family. There are 5 children in total and two parents in the home. Father works 7 days a week between two different jobs to provide for his family; mother also works part time in order to provide for essentials. Family has struggled this past Fall with mother’s health problems that left her immobile for weeks on end and forced father to go without work or pay in order to care for his wife and children through her recovery. I have worked with one of the children for the past year and have witnessed the family’s dedication and care towards each family member and child, several of whom have special needs and require additional attention and resources. Parents have gone above and beyond to see that each child receives what he or she needs, including appropriate appointments, referrals, meetings, and adjustments to home routine as needed to care for the child. I continue to be impressed with the level of time and dedication the family has towards each of its members. This season, the U family would greatly benefit from any donation you can give; both parents have concerns about providing children with the things they ask and making sure their Christmas is bright. Thank you for your consideration. Please click on this Story Card to review the full Wish List details.
