INDIAN INDEPENDENCE

India is the biggest democracy with 1.45 billion citizens. It is a nation with multi-cultural diversity and the birthplace of religions like Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism, and Jainism. All will be celebrating India’s independence on August 15th. Yoga and Meditation are the essence of these religions. India is often referred to as a “land of unity in diversity”. Indian diaspora can be seen all over the world, maintaining its culture while contributing to the development of the nation, where they live.

Indians account for 18% of the population of Fremont. Indians in Fremont celebrate every year with a cultural fair and parade. Cultural and Special Interest Groups at the Age Well Centers will also be celebrating the momentous occasion. The City of Fremont is noted for its cultural, ethnic, racial, and faith-based diversity.
