Home Match A New Idea For Housing Do you have an extra room in your home? Are you looking for an affordable place to live? Covia Community Services, a nonprofit providing housing and services for older adults, is excited to partner with the City of Fremont to assume management of the successful shared housing program previously offered by HIP Housing. Covia’s Home Match program will continue to assist home seekers who work, live, or go to school in Fremont by matching them with home providers in Fremont, Newark or Union City. The program is open to participants 18 and over. Through Home Match, home providers receive monthly rent income and/or an exchange of services to provide help with things such as grocery shopping, pet care, or transportation. Home seekers benefit from affordable rent and an established community. Both benefit from companionship. Covia’s Home Match staff looks forward to building relationships with community partners to offer a solution to meet the escalating Bay Area housing crisis.
