On Friday September 29th, the Tri-City Elder Coalition (TCEC) held it’s 24th annual Seniors Night Out event at the Double Tree Hilton in Newark, which is a fundraiser for TCEC’s Personal Urgent Need (PUN fund). It was a full house where cowgirls and cowboys of all ages wore their hats, boots, spurs, and vests. Entertainment Double Trouble Band and the Farmers and Farmerettes Square Dance Club of Newark amused
and amazed attendees. The occasion which is a time where community leaders, organizations and individuals celebrate seniors, by escorting them for an evening out overflowed with positive energy and fun. One participant who is 91 years young, said in a thank you note to her sponsor/escort: “Thank you for the most unforgettable evening. Thank you for getting me on the dance floor. That was BIG! Thank you many times.”

Our Kitchen Heroes Thank you to all the wonderful kitchen volunteers that help Lake Side Café function like a well-oiled machine. It was challenging to work out of the Teen Center kitchen the first couple of weeks in October and go back and forth. Your time and efforts are greatly appreciated now and always! Love People? We are looking for front desk volunteers. Typical front desk duties include clerical work, cash and credit card transactions and answering phones.
