AN AGE-FRIENDLY CITY IS A LIVABLE CITY THE PROGRAMS AND SERVICES AT THE FSC ARE CANCELLED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE due to COVID-19 and the Shelter In Place Order issued by the Alameda County Public Health Department. Two services are still available: the Mobile Food Pantry which takes place the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month at 1.30pm and Showers for Seniors which takes place Monday, Wednesday and Friday 10am to 2pm depending on monitor availability and supplies.
4 STEPS TO EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS FOR OLDER ADULTS Adults 60 years of age and older are among the most vulnerable when disaster strikes. That’s why it’s critical that adults 60+, and those who care for them, take steps to be better prepared for times like now. If you’re 60 years of age or older, or care for an adult 60 years of age and older, follow the steps below: Step 1. Find your five trusted allies and share your plan Step 2. Prioritize your health needs and create lists Step 3. Create your emergency supplies kit Step 4. Plan how and when to evacuate The City of Fremont and the Human Services Department is a strong advocate for seniors and want to help adults 60+ be prepared. If you utilize a Human Services Department program, a 4 Steps to Emergency Preparedness booklet will be mailed to your home in the next few weeks. The booklet goes into greater detail about the 4 steps above and includes a hands-on worksheet for you.
