GREATER NILES VILLAGE
GREATER NILES VILLAGE (GNV), FREMONT’S FIRST VILLAGE, IS FORMING. A new non-profit, GNV is a community of neighbors who share their skills and support to navigate the challenges and opportunities of aging. GNV will serve neighborhoods along Mission Boulevard from the Union City border to Morrison Canyon/Walnut Avenue. Greater Niles Village is part of a national movement responding to the growing numbers of older adults. There are 350 Villages across the U.S. Villages are non-profit, member-driven organizations dedicated to positively impacting health and interdependence. They create interdependence by assisting members with social networks and practical assistance to age safely and successfully in their neighborhoods. Village members experience more social interaction, increased independence, and enhanced purpose of life. Through Villages, older adults are empowered and remain in charge of their lives as they age. The Greater Niles Village Board is implementing its vision through five working teams. GNV invites you to join us now as a Team Volunteer.
