13TH ANNUAL FREMONT SENIOR CENTER CRAB FEED
THE FREMONT SENIOR CENTER INVITES YOU TO THE 13TH ANNUAL CRAB FEED — it’s our major fundraiser each year. Funds raised from this event go to support the Fremont Senior Center’s Lake Side Café, where delicious affordable meals are cooked by culinary trained Chef David. Enjoy a fabulous crab dinner on Friday February 21st at 6pm and support the Fremont Senior Center while you’re at it! The Crab Feed will be held at the Fremont Retirement Community Center 2860 Country Drive, Fremont 94536. Tickets are $55 per person and are on sale now. Buy them at the Fremont Senior Center, located at 40086 Paseo Padre Pkwy 8am to 3pm M—F. Aside from selling tickets, the Center is looking for generous, supportive sponsors willing to make donations ranging from $175 to $5000. Fremont Senior Center will be closed on Wednesday January 1 for New Year’s Day. In observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the FSC will also be closed on Monday January 20. January Birthday Party January 10 1—2.30pm Wing A Entertainment will be provided by The Magic Notes. Everyone is welcome, even if it is not your birthday! Free dessert will be given to all attendees and all those celebrating a January birthday receive a FREE gift. Those celebrating a birthday this month must register for a free gift by 12:55pm. AARP Tax Assistance February 4—April 14 2020 Times vary — Wing B Tax time is right around the corner. AARP will be offering free tax appointments from mid February-mid April. AARP will be holding appointments on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s. Please call on or after January 2 to make an appointment. You can also make an appointment in our office beginning January 2. 13th Annual Crab Feed Now Accepting Basket Donations Prepared gift baskets, new gifts, vacation homes, and gift cards are needed for the crab feed raffle. Do you help a senior family member? Family Caregiver support program offers walk-in counseling hours on the second and fourth Fridays of the month. You can talk with a counselor, find better ways of managing caregiving stresses and learn about other community resources. No appointment needed. Team Captain Volunteers needed for Crab Feed We are looking for adult volunteers to be Team Captains for our Crab Feed on February 21. Team captain duties include overseeing teenage and other volunteers, organizing tables and raffle prizes prior to the crab feed, serving food to tables, cleaning off tables, setting and cleaning tables and other duties as needed. Volunteer Spotlight: Julie Ebreo Julie has volunteered 4 years in the FSC kitchen. She enjoys helping with lunch prep for Lake Side Cafe patrons. In addition, Julie volunteers for the Mobile Food pantry two times a month where she helps distibute free groceries to seniors. Julie is always dependable and brings a great smile to her volunteering. She is appreciated by all that work with her. Thank you Julie!
