Blanka Vlašić u Kući slavnih mitinga u Bruxellesu Blanka Vlašić primljena je u Kuću slavnih atletskog mitinga u Bruxellesu. Veliko priznanje dvostrukoj svjetskoj prvakinji u skoku u vis i dvostrukoj olimpijskoj medaljašici (srebro u Pekingu 2008. i bronca u Riju 2016.) ukazano je na posebnoj svečanosti uoči 45. izdanja Memoriala Van Damme, jednog od najuglednijih svjetskih atletskih mitinga, koji je dio serijala mitinga Dijamantne lige. Zajedno s Blankom Vlašić u Kuću slavnih Memoriala Van Damme primljen je i svjetski rekorder u skoku u dalj Mike Powell. U osam nastupa na tom mitingu, Blanka Vlašić je triput pobijedila. Uza to, Komisija športaša HOO-a kandidirala je našu proslavljenu atletičarku, dvostruku osvajačicu olimpijske medalje u skoku uvis, za izbor u Komisiju športaša Europskih olimpijskih odbora (EOO). Sjednica skupštine športaša EOO-a održat će se 2. listopada u Dubrovniku. Pravo sudjelovanja ima dvoje športaša ili športašica iz svake države članice EOO-a, pa predstoji još i odluka tko će, uz Blanku, biti drugi hrvatski športaš/športašica s pravom sudjelovanja na tom zasjedanju. Prema glasovima Komisije športaša HOO-a, to bi mogao biti srebrni gimnastički olimpijac iz Tokija Tin Srbić.
Olimpijka Nina Broznić u programu Olimpijske solidarnosti

Nakon prvih dviju faza programa Olimpijske solidarnosti MOO-a za osposobljavanje i obrazovanje športaša iz poduzetništva Athlete 365 Business Accelerator, MOO je objavio popis 28 odabranih športaša koji će sudjelovati u trećoj i posljednjoj fazi programa ubrzanje poslovnih ideja. Među odabranima je i hrvatska olimpijka sa ZOI-ja Vancouver 2010. Nina Broznić (skijaško trčanje), kojoj će, nakon završetka športske karijere, sudjelovanje u Poslovnom akceleratoru pomoći u pokretanju vlastitog posla kako bi njezina poslovna ideja zaživjela i prerasla u održivu tvrtku. Ovaj program Olimpijske solidarnosti MOO-a namijenjen je obrazovanju športaša, posebno olimpijaca, kojima se pružaju alati i znanje za pokretanje vlastitog posla i provodi se u suradnji s organizacijom YSH – Yunus Sports Hub. Prva faza Engagement – besplatni virtualni bootcamp koji je bio dostupan svim športašima i olimpijcima; druga faza Incubation – radionice i mentorstvo samo za športaše koji su završili prvu fazu programa i završna treća faza Acceleration – personalizirana obuka i mentorstvo na vlastitom jeziku, za što Olimpijska solidarnost MOO-a osigurava financijsku potporu. U šest mjeseci, koliko će trajati završna faza programa, športaši će od mentora i globalnih poslovnih stručnjaka dobiti obuku i podršku svom poslovanju od ideje do pokretanja posla. Nina Broznić
Croatian Paralympians’ seven medals The 16th Paralympic Games Tokyo (held from 24 August to 5 September) hosted a record of 4,537 athletes from 162 countries, including 22 Croatian Paralympians. Croatian athletes with disabilities competed in a record eight sports, winning as many as seven medals – three silver and four bronze medals, having thus Croatia reach 26 medals in the history of the Summer Paralympics. So far, the Croatian Paralympians have won the most medals in London (in 2012) and Rio de Janeiro (in 2016), five at each of them. The first medal in Tokyo went to Velimir Šandor, silver in Men’s Discus Throw F52, followed by Anđela Mužinić and Helena Dretar Karić who won bronze in Women’s Table Tennis Team – Class 1-3. Ivan Katanušić continued the winning series with silver in Men’s Discus Throw F64, followed by bronzes won by Dino Sinovčić in Men’s 100 m Backstroke S6 and Mikela Ristoski in Women’s Long Jump T20. As final touch, the end of the Games Ivan Mikulić won silver in Taekwondo (+75 kg) and Deni Černi won bronze in Men’s Shot Put F33. Blanka Vlašić in the Hall of Fame of the Athletics Meeting in Brussels Blanka Vlašić was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the Van Damme Memorial athletics meeting in Brussels. The great recognition of the two-time World Champion in High Jump and two-time Olympic medalist (silver in Beijing in 2008 and bronze in Rio in 2016) was shown at a special ceremony ahead of the 45th edition of the Van Damme Memorial, one of the world's most respected athletics meetings, which is a part of the Diamond League meeting series. Together with Blanka Vlašić, the World Record holder in Long Jump Mike Powell was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the Van Damme Memorial. In eight appearances at the meeting, Blanka Vlašić has won three times. Besides the above mentions, the Croatian Olympic Committee’s Athletes’ Commission nominated the celebrated Croatian athlete - a two-time Olympic medalist in High Jump - for election to the European Olympic Committees (EOCs) Athletes’ Commission. 25th anniversary of a Youth Sports Games Youth Sports Games, a unique blend of school aged youth and sports, marked this year the 25th anniversary. On this occasion – besides the international finale of this year's edition of the Plasma Sport Youth Games at the end of August – a festive academy was organized in Split, the city where this praiseworthy event was held. The Croatian Olympic Committee’s President Zlatko Mateša and Secretary General Siniša Krajač congratulated all participants and deserving people on the 25th anniversary of the Youth Sports Games, especially their initiator and tireless project promoter, the President of the Organizing Committee Zdravko Marić. "Youth Sports Games"- pointed out the Heads of the Croatian Olympic Committee - "are of invaluable importance for the health of school aged youth, both Croatian and those from neighboring countries. We wish to all past, present and future participants of the Games first and foremost good health and to keep the sport spirit within them in years to come as well. With congratulations for the 25th anniversary of the event, we wish you, Mr. Marić, perseverance and longevity of the project, which, after crossing Croatian borders – will surely still grow bigger, creating the basis for new athletes, Olympians or simply new sports enthusiasts".
