Hana Dragojević dobitnica svjetske Fair play nagrade 2013.

Hana Dragojevic winner of the world Fair play Award 2013 Hana Dragojevic, a young sailor from the Split-based Sailing Club "Labud" was awarded the IOC President's Youth Prize for the year 2013. Hana, student of the seventh grade of elementary school, saved at the sailing regatta for younger cadets the boy Marko Smolic, whose boat capsized, leaving him entangled in the lines in the position from which he could not free himself. Although Hana was among the leading contestants, she changed her course, approached Marko’s boat, jumped into the sea, straightened the boat and disentangled Marko from the lines. For this gesture she was also awarded by the Croatian Olympic Committee, and on February 24th – as a special recognition - she attended the reception with the Croatian President Ivo Josipovic, in the presence of her mother Marina, the President and Vice President of the COC Zlatko Matesa and Morana Palikovic Gruden. The IOC President’s award went also to the youngest members of the Olympic Movement – the Mexican mini-basketball team "Triqui" (Triqui Children Team) of average age of 12 years, who have performed at the International Mini-Basketball Festival 2013 held in the city of Cordoba, Argentina. The children were accustomed to play barefoot, as they always played in poor indigenous "Triqui" communities in the Mexican state of Oaxaca, where they were born. But when the Organizing Committee urged them to play in sneakers, the children listened to the instructions and – despite of great difficulties caused by wearing sneakers - they won the tournament... The FISU Gala Awarding Ceremony will be held in Kazan, Russia, in July 2014. Ivica Kostelic attended the reception with the President Ivo Josipovic On February 24th, 2014 Ivica Kostelić, silver Olympian from the Winter Olympics in Sochi, as well as other notables from the Croatian Ski Federation including - first of all - the President of the Federation Mr. Miho Glavic, also a member of the COC Council and Ante Kostelic, top coach and expert in alpine skiing, attended the reception with the Croatian President. After thanking the President for the reception, Ivica Kostelic – winner of four Olympic silver medals - emphasized the importance of the Games, considering them a unique civilized achievement and gathering where the best athletes of the world meet, both in sports and Olympic spirit. He also added that he is extremely proud that he helped Croatia to be one of the countries whose athletes won an Olympic medal in Sochi. Concerning the previous three silver medals, Ivica Kostelic won them at the Winter Olympics in Turin 2006 in the Combined and in Vancouver 2010 in the Combined and in Slalom. By adding to this four Olympic gold medals and two silvers won by his sister Janica Kostelic, also the most successful alpine skier at the Winter Olympics, the Croatian President Ivo Josipovic emphasized that Croatia has the right to be proud of the Kostelic family that marked both the world’s and Croatian winter sports.
