First potential candidates for Rio 2016

Vaterpolska reprezentacija 2008., Lucija Zaninović (taekwondo) te muška rukometna reprezentacija, njih osamnaestorica, s odličjima iz Londona. Na listi potencijalnih A olimpijskih kandidata od 1. siječnja 2013. su Marijana Mišković i Tomislav Marijanović (judo), Ivan Kljaković Gašpić (jedrenje/finn), Šime Fantela i Igor Marenić (jedrenje/ klasa 470), Tonći Stipanović (jedrenje/ klasa laser) Bojan Đurković, Anton

Glasnović i Josip Glasnović (streljaštvo) te Ruiwu Tan (stolni tenis). Inače, na ljetnim Olimpijskim igrama od 1992. hrvatski su športaši osvojili 23 odličja - 6 zlatnih, 7 srebrnih i 10 brončanih (Barcelona: 1 srebro, 2 bronce; Atlanta: 1 zlato, 1srebro; Sydney: 1 zlato, 1 bronca; Atena: 1 zlato, 2 srebra, 2 bronce; Peking: 2 srebra, 3 bronce; London: 3 zlata, 1 srebro, 2 bronce)

In February this year first Croatian candidates – one as top Olympic candidates and the others as potential A candidates - were put on the list of potential participants at the XXXI Olympics that will be held in 2016 in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil). Among the top candidates are the winners of Olympic medals at the Olympics in Beijing 2008 and the Olympics in London 2012, and they are classified into gold, silver and bronze medal candidates, depending on the type of medal won. Potential A candidates do not have medals, but most of them had either great performance at the Games or they were put on the list thanks to their high position in the world rankings and medals won at the European Championships. Anyway, both of them will have to confirm their status in 2014, at the new, demanding international sports competitions. Of course - in the end - only those who will qualify and meet the standards and criteria established by the International Olympic Committee, in accordance with international sports federations of Olympic sports, as well as the criteria of the Croatian Olympic Committee foreseen by the project Rio Olympics 2016, will compete at the Olympics. In the group of top Olympic gold candidates are the winners of gold medals from London - Sandra Perkovic (discus throwing), Giovanni Cernogoraz (trap) and men’s water polo team with 15 athletes. In the group of top Olympic silver candidates are: Blanka Vlasic (high jump) and Filip Ude (pommel horse) with Olympics in Beijing 2008, and rower’s foursome Valent Sinkovic, Martin Sinkovic, David Sain and Damir Martin, with silver from London. And finally, in the group of top Olympic bronze candidates are: Snjezana Pejcic (archery) with a medal from Beijing 2008, Lucija Zaninovic (taekwondo) and men’s handball team, eighteen of them, with medals from London. From January 1st 2013, on the list of potential A Olympic candidates are Marijana Miskovic and Tomislav Marjanovic (judo), Ivan Kljakovic Gaspic (sailing/finn), Sime Fantela and Igor Marenic (sailing/class 470), Tonci Stipanovic (sailing/Laser), Bojan Durkovic, Anton Glasnovic and Josip Glasnovic (archery) and Ruiwu Tan (table tennis). Anyway, since 1992 Croatian athletes won 23 medals at the Summer Olympic Games - 6 gold, 7 silver and 10 bronze (Barcelona: 1 silver, 2 bronze; Atlanta: 1 gold, 1 silver; Sydney: 1 gold, 1 bronze, Athens: 1 gold, 2 silver, 2 bronze; Beijing: 2 silver, 3 bronze; London: 3 gold, 1 silver, 2 bronze).

After Brasov - Montafon

FeraVino partner HOO-a do 2016. Tvrtka FeraVino d.o.o. iz Feričanca (www.feravino.hr) proizvođač višekratno nagrađivanih vina iz Osječko-baranjske županije, novi je partner Hrvatskog olimpijskog odbora. Ugovor o partnerstvu do 2016. godine potpisali su u siječnju 2013. glavni tajnik HOO-a Josip Čop i direktor FeraVina Dražen Babić koji je naglasio da su međunarodni ugled i rezultati hrvatskih športaša dodatna motivacija kompaniji i odgovornost koju želi podijeliti sa hrvatskim društvom. Proizvodni kapaciteti vinarske tvrtke FeraVino koja ima oko 156 ha vinove loze, a čiji vinski podrum datira iz sedamdesetih prošlog stoljeća, iznosi između 900 tisuća i milijun litara vina. Najzastupljeniji su bijeli pinot, rajnski rizling, chardonnay, graševina, a od crnih zweigelt, syrah, cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, merlot, pinot crni te Olimp 46 - Ožujak 2013

The eleventh edition of the European Youth Olympic Winter Festival (EYOWF) was held from February 17th to 22nd 2013 in Romanian city Brasov and two cities in the region, Rasnov and Predeal. The Festival was attended by thousands of athletes from 49 countries, members of the European Olympic Committees (EOC), among which was also Croatia. Young athletes between 16 and 18 years competed in eight sports, and the Croatian delegation included Tamara Zubcic and Marko Abramovic (alpine skiing), Rea Rausel and Vedran Mihelcic (cross country), Kresimir Crnkovic and Filip Petrovic (biathlon), Valentina Mikac (figure skating) and Marin Kolenc (speed skating), accompanied by 12 officials and members of the EYOWF mission, under the leadership of Assistant Secretary General of the COC Damir Segota. To most girls and boys this was their first Olympic experience, an introduction to the dynamic world of the Olympic movement in which, beside the sports events, they are acquiring skills of international understanding, excellence, fair play, solidarity and integrity of the heritage of Olympism. Olympic festivals, winter and summer edition, are held every two years, and the next, 12th Winter Festival will be held in the Austrian Montafon from January 25th to 31st 2015, in cooperation with the National Olympic Committee of Austria and Liechtenstein.
