Od Olimpa dO dO Olimpa Support for women's handball In addition to co-financing the participation of young Croatian athletes in the first Youth Olympic Games, Olympic Solidarity of the International Olympic Committee also granted two-year financial support to the Croatian Olympic Committee. The funds are intended for preparation and qualification of the Croatian women’s handball team for the 2012 London Olympic Games. This important decision of Olympic Solidarity to support Croatian women’s handball, and also the Croatian Handball Federation, will provide opportunities for a range of preparatory competitions that are important steps on road to qualifying for the London Olympic Games. These competitions include the European Handball Championship in Norway 2010, the World Championship qualification, possible participation in the 2011 Brazil Handball World Cup, and the 2012 Olympic Games. Olympic Solidarity also granted separate funds to support the organization of an international symposium on water polo Injuries, which was held during the 2010 European Water Polo Championship in Zagreb. Assembly on Golf and Volleyball Membership At its 26th session on 7 September, with 116 votes "for" and one vote "against", the Assembly of the Croatian Olympic Committee voted to terminate the membership of the Croatian Golf Alliance (Hrvatski golf savez) in HOO due to operational circumstances and activity contrary to the provisions of the Associations Act, the Sports Act and the Statutes of HOO. At the same time, at the proposal of the Council, the Assembly accepted the Croatian Golf Association (Hrvatska golf udruga), which has 37 member clubs with 695 athletes, as an associate member of HOO. With the same number of votes, and according to the same statutory provisions on conditions of membership, the HOO Assembly terminated the membership of the Croatian Volleyball Federation (Hrvatski odbojkaški savez), which is in bankruptcy proceedings, and because of which it does not comply with the duty of a national sports association and, accordingly, with the interests of Croatian volleyball clubs and national teams. Unlike golf, which offered a new association, the role of the national association for Croatian volleyball will be temporarily taken over by HOO according to an agreement between HOO Chairman, Zlatko Mateša, and the President of the European Volleyball Confederation (EVC), Andre Meyer, who met in Luxembourg at the beginning of August,. The result of this agreement is a decision by the European Volleyball Confederation to transfer all the existing rights and obligations from the CVF to HOO, as the only body responsible to the European association. 2010 "Dražen Petrović" Award to Barbara Matić, Filip Hrgović and the basketball players! In the presence of Antun Vrdoljak, a member of the International Olympic Committee and the honorary chairman of HOO; HOO Chairman Zlatko Mateša; the mother of the late Dražen Petrović, Biserka Petrović; and a number of Olympians and distinguished Croatian and Zagreb athletes, the Croatian Olympic Committee awarded the prestigious Dražen Petrović Award on 10 September at a formal ceremony at the Museum-Memorial Center Dražen Petrović. This year, the Dražen Petrović Award, intended for young generations of top Croatian athletes, was awarded to Barbara Matić, who won two bronze medals in judo at the Youth Olympic Games in Singapore in 2010, and to Filip Hrgović, a boxer who is the world junior heavyweight champion. The team awards were in the same sport that Petrović played – basketball – and were given to the men's junior team which won the gold medal at the European Championship, and to the women's U-16 team that won the silver medal at the European Championship in Greece.

slijed trajne skrbi o položaju žena u športu. Organiziran 8. lipnja u Starogradskoj vijećnici u Zagrebu, okupio je brojna ugledna imena „ženskog“ športa pod predsjedavanjem članice Vijeća HOO-a i predsjednice Komisije Morane Paliković Gruden. U svim strateškim dokumentima RH osigurati ravnopravnost žena i muškaraca u športu. Posebno voditi brigu o zastupljenosti žena u pojedinim športovima kroz stalno praćenje broja športašica i klubova 2. Žene u športu podržavaju i predlažu uvođenje III. programa športskog programa HRT-a, kroz koji žele ostvariti i prisutnost i promociju ženskog ekipnog športa. 3. Uključivanje muškaraca iz područja športa u uspostavu ravnopravnijeg položaja žena u športovima, posebno ekipnim. 4.
