This low- rise high density mixed use development is a part of the Bilaj Al-Jazayer Masterplan developed by Foster + Partners for the Crown Prince of Bahrain and consists of two five- star hotels along with luxury residential freehold apartments serviced by the hotels. I jointly led design coordination and full delivery of the project in capacity of lead consultant architect. I worked on streamlining coordination with multiple stakeholdes including structural, MEP, interior design, lighting, kitchen, acoustic consultants on both hotels and residences, delivering GFC packages for construction. I also was responsible for delivery of the entire package including all of the sub-consultant packages. This involved detailed discussions, reviews, and QAQC of all the discipline sets, which helped me understand finer details of building systems integration. Alongside this, I also worked on responding to RFIs, reviewing shop drawings, material approval, etc. While this project provided me with immense learning outcomes from a project execution point of view, this also serves me as a major confidence booster in terms of being able to manage a full large scale construction documents set in a single phase delivery and building my understanding to a shop drawings level.
