Celebrating Colorado’s Birthday in Style In July, Highlands Ranch celebrated America’s 250th anniversary with Star-Spangled Birthday Bash activities throughout the Fourth of July weekend. Now, on August 1, the Highlands Ranch Community Association (HRCA) will host an outdoor festival to celebrate another huge birthday for local residents: Colorado’s 150th. Colorado became the nation’s 38th state in 1876, exactly 100 years after the birth of the United States. It is for this reason that it earned the nickname “The Centennial State.” Continued on page 4.
