From Pastor John: We had a busy and great summer at Engage with 2 mission teams coming to help us run 2 VBSs. To start off we had a large event called Splash Day with water slides, toys and sweet snacks at the Lanakila housing area. We had around 200 people attend. The newspaper even came and took VBS Fun! pictures and put our event in the paper! Many of our newer families attended our VBSs, along with some new families from the community. In the Sundays after we saw some come to our church and are excited about connecting with them. Several decisions were made which we are following up on. Pray for us as we finish up our summer season of focusing on families and switch gears to focus on incoming college students. Thanks. -John Endriss
OCEAN VIEW BAPTIST CHURCH From Pastor Mike: Summer 2014 was an exciting one for us at Ocean View Baptist Church. We had a few "firsts". We took 6 to Keiki Camp and 21 to BIBA Youth Camp (pictured below). Both were the first time for us to participate. God really touched the hearts of our students as well as our counselors. The big event was the "Back to School Bash". We had 415 registered guests with 50 volunteer

workers and 30 of our own church kids. We gave away a bag of school supplies to each student, had shave ice, hot dogs, cotton candy, popcorn, free slippahs, face painting and 2 bounce houses. Of course, Dr. Madd About Jesus was there to share the Gospel. We had 22 professions of faith. Our people did a great job in serving. It was a carnival like atmosphere for the kids. It met a great need for so many families.

The VBS Sports camp was the first event we did this summer. We had a mission team from San Diego lead the evening camp. Throughout the week we gave out cotton candy, popcorn, or shaved ice each night. We had 104 registered and 17 salvations!! Praise God! During IMPACT weekend for youth, 24 students from Waikoloa came together for worship, games, and a message each morning and evening of the weekend. Just this past Sunday (8/3/2014) , we had 5 students accept Christ during Sunday School!! For VBS we had over 50 volunteers helping with teaching, drama, music, crafts, snacks, and games. From 7-9am we had early morning childcare provided for parents that needed to drop their child off before work. From 9am-12pm the kids had VBS, then from 12-5pm we had a Bible day camp for them ran by a mission team from Arizona. A total of 87 kids registered and 13 children accepted Christ!! Our Back to School Bash was the last thing to take place. We had over 30 volunteers arrive here to help out with anything the school needed while also giving over 500 bags of popcorn, over 500 cones of cotton candy, and over 200 bags filled with Christian notebooks, pencils, candy, tracks, flyers, the Gospel of John, and The Life BookŽ. We also sponsored a blowup bungee run and a Kendama tournament in which the winner received $100 gift card. Over the summer, WBC met so many new people in the community and as a result we have seen several new faces in youth, children’s ministry, and the worship service. VBS Sports Camp
OHANA Prayer time at Ohana
This summer has been an exciting time in the life of Ohana Church! We have gotten to celebrate our first Baptism Luau and first membership class. It has been exciting to see God at work in the lives of the people of Ohana Church as He draws them to Himself! One of the greatest blessings in the life of Ohana Church this summer has been our time of prayer in preparation for our Revive Gathering August 3rd & 4th. We have been meeting nightly as a fellowship and praying. We know that we cannot create revival, but that we can leverage our position to hear from God. We have used this time to ask God to focus our hearts on Him and prepare us for revival, but we have also realized that we are not waiting for the event, but God is reviving our hearts already! We have seen relationships restored, physical healing take place, and people be delivered from attacks of the enemy! God has also given us an opportunity to connect with our community as Kahu Zeke has taken on the role of equipment manager for the Hilo High Football Team. It has been a wonderful opportunity for the people of Ohana Church to get to love on and serve the coaching staff and students. Baptism Luau Please pray with us for open doors to share the truth of the Gospel in this area. As the summer comes to a close we are looking forward to our Revive Gathering August 3rd & 4th. We are so blessed to have a team from one of our sponsoring churches, Hope Church in Las Vegas, joining us and leading us in worship! We are asking God to revive our hearts as we seek to lift Him higher in Hilo.

KOHALA BAPTIST CHURCH Kohala Baptist Church hosted Vacation Bible School July 21-25 Paradise Park Baptist 2014. It was a blessing to see the hand of God move in our midst as we hosted over 50 children for a week of Bible instruction, food, games, crafts, music and more. Four children accepted Christ as their Savior.

HAMAKUA BAPTIST CHURCH From Carole Carvalho: We had a wonderful VBS! We used Jeff Slaughter's Scavenger Hunt Curriculum. The music was awesome, the kids loved it! We had about 40 kids attend from Grade 1-12th. Our missions emphasis was Operation Christmas Child-Shoeboxes. We had about 20+ boxes filled by the parents, postage paid! We were graciously given 50 plastic shoeboxes by the Big Island Director of Operation Christmas Child along with much promotional items that we gave out. Our church will be moving to fill the 50 boxes from now to November. It is a wonderful way to reach out to other children of the world and give our VBS kids a direct connection to missions! We did also take daily offering for our own missionaries through the Cooperative Program. We gathered approximately $150. For only 50 registered kids, that was an awesome amount! Our interim pastor is Joshua Morris, his wife, Michelle and their 5 kids: Juliann, Elijah, Jeremiah, Joseph & Josephine. We had a lot of parents attend Scavenger Adventure parent night and at least one parent raised her hand for salvation. From Pastor Bruce: Cornerstone Christian Fellowship held its first Sports Camp the week of June 23rd. A team from Uncharted Water Sports Ministry led the camp. 27 children enrolled, with an average of 22 attending daily. A number of the children are from unchurched families. There were also 18 adult workers, who seemed to enjoy the camp as much as the children did. Two boys accepted Jesus as their Savior and Lord during the camp. Two weeks before the camp, the church wasn’t sure where it would even hold the camp since there isn’t room on the church property. Every possible venue was unavailable. But God’s timing is perfect. Makua Lani Christian Academy, which just took possession of the old Hualalai Academy property next door to the church earlier in the month, graciously allowed CCF to use its facilities for the camp.

Pastor Alan and Mike Morris
From Pastor Alan: One of the things we did in the Spring was to have a revival. Dr. Mike Morris (pictured above with Pastor Alan) and his wife Grace came to Puna in March for “Revive the Nation." Twelve people recommitted their lives to Christ. Before the revival meetings Dr. Morris taught evangelism classes and Grace Morris did children’s worker training. About 50 people attended the training, some from neighboring churches. The Morris' spoke to our AWANA children about how to become a missionary. Puna Baptist also held VBA (Vacation Bible VBA

Adventure) with 82 workers and children attending. Two made a decisions for Christ. A mission team from North Carolina came to help lead VBA.
KONA BAPTIST CHURCH Vacation Bible School was great! There were 2 salvations and 4 recommitments that came from VBS. Music Camp concluded with a Family Night & Poluck. We had classes in Guitar, Ukulele, Hula, Voice, and ASL interpretive dance. We had 2 salvations and 2 recommitments. On family night we gave away 6 guitars and 9 ukuleles. VBS

Keiki Kamp was an absolute blast...to see the children really growing and getting to know the Lord. There were 2 salvations and 5 recommitments to the Lord during camp.

From Pastor Mar: This program was catered to reach young people. A group of Young people from Maryland, 6 of them, came to minister to us with their pastor and his wife. For 4 days we had visitation, training, in the daytime then have revival meetings in the evening. We had 50 to 60 in attendance and a lot of decisions made (picture to the left) including 5 baptisms. Me and Pastor Mostoles preached every evening.

From Karl Sunagawa: We held a Church Enrichment Summer Program Family Night. We stretched our VBS curriculum out for 6 weeks. By the time Family Night came around, the kids knew the scriptures and the songs very well. We had a great turn out. About 80 family and friends came to see the kids perform. Pastor Daniel, and the Enrichment Program Director Denise Drake shared about Jesus at this event. However the strongest message came from the kid’s enthusiasm and passion for the scripture and songs that they learned throughout the Summer. It was an amazing night of celebration on what Jesus has done throughout the Summer Program. This year we had 4 middle school students pray to receive Christ! Praise God for what He is doing at Kino’ole Baptist Church through this Program.

Big Island Youth Camp, BIMPACT, directed by Dean Stanley, was awesome. Over 100 people attended July 1721 at KMC. Worship was led by Ohana Church with Zeke Tomaselli preaching. Many adults helped pull the camp together with creative and sometimes messy games, quality devotionals, delicious meals and much more. Thank you to all of you that impacted the Big Island youth that attended the camp.

Thank you for giving to both BIBA and the Cooperative Program! Lives were changed, in part, through your generous gifts!
