O Little Town of Bethlehem
Author - Phillips Brooks
O little town of Bethlehem
How still we see thee lie
Above thy deep and dreamless sleep
The silent stars go by Yet in thy dark streets shineth
The everlasting Light
The hopes and fears of all the years Are met in thee tonight.
For Christ is born of Mary And gathered all above While mortals sleep, the angels keep Their watch of wondering love
O morning stars together
Proclaim the holy birth
And praises sing to God the King And Peace to men on earth
How silently, how silently
The wondrous gift is given!
So God imparts to human hearts
The blessings of His heaven.
No ear may hear His coming, But in this world of sin, Where meek souls will receive him still, The dear Christ enters in.
Frosty The Snowman
Frosty the snowman was a jolly happy soul, With a corncob pipe and a button nose, And two eyes made out of coal:
Frosty the snowman is a fairy tale, they say, He was made of snow but the children Know how he came to life one day. There must have been some magic in that Old silk hat they found.
For when they placed it on his head, He began to dance around.
O, Frosty the snowman
Was alive as he could be, And the children say he could laugh And play just the same as you and me. Thumpetty thump thump, Thumpety thump thump, Look at Frosty go.
Thumpetty thump thump, Thumpety, thump thump. Over the hills of snow.
Frosty the snowman knew The sun was hot that day, So he said, “Let’s run and We’ll have some fun now Before I melt away.”
Down to the village, With a broomstick in his hand, Running here and there all Around the square saying. Catch me if you can. He led them down the streets of town
Right to the traffic cop.
And he only paused a moment when He heard him holler “Stop!”
For Frosty the snowman
Had to hurry on his way, But he waved goodbye saying, “Don’t you cry, I’ll be back again some day.”
Thumpetty thump thump, Thumpety thump thump, Look at Frosty go.
Thumpetty thump thump, Thumpety thump thump, Over the hills of snow.
F. Lawson Sussex County Administrator
On behalf of the Sussex County Council, I want to personally thank you for coming out to this year’s Caroling on The Circle, our 42nd anniversary edition of this wonderful community singing event!
Once again, we are excited to partner with the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce for their annual Christmas parade. There is no better way to see community pride on display than by gathering in one place for a night of celebration. It’s that very sense of community that drives the Caroling on The Circle/Pack the Pod campaign to help those less fortunate in our community each and every holiday season, and this year is no different.
Since the first Caroling event in the 1980s to now, generous contributions from the community have amounted to more than 800,000 food items for local food pantries. That’s a meaningful difference that has surely brightened the holiday season for hungry families right here in Sussex County!
Thank you once again for joining us for the 2025 celebration, and for your steadfast support of Caroling on The Circle over the years. On behalf of the County Council and the entire County government, best wishes for a wonderful and joyous holiday season!
Sincerely,
The Georgetown Chamber of Commerce, Town of Georgetown and Sussex County Government are SO excited to once again bring you Caroling on The Circle followed by the tree lighting and Christmas Parade.
The theme this year, which we think will bring some very cool and exciting parade participants is Christmas Around the World. We have such a diverse community and saw last year many floats/walking groups that represented that great diversity, we are only hoping this year to build on that.
This year we are VERY excited to be able to honor a person who has been hugely supportive of the Georgetown Community – Senator Brian Pettyjohn!
We invite everyone to come out to The Circle on Thursday, December 4th, come out early for dinner with our many food trucks (Taqueria La Patrona, Blessed by the Best, Cindy’s Meals on Wheels, Bobby Chuckie’s Vending, Mayhems Confections and Freebirds Mobile Bar), have dinner, stake out your spot for the parade and listen to the sounds of the season. Caroling on The Circle begins at 6 pm, with the tree lighting at 6:55 and the parade kickoff at 7 pm.
I would be very remiss if I didn’t give a shout out to our Sponsors: starting with our stage sponsor, Fulton Bank, Artesian Water, County Bank, Media Choice & Solutions IPEM.
A huge thanks to TV Delmarva for broadcasting the parade live, our judges, JoJo’s Express for feeding our judges, Chardon Jewelers for hosting our judges and all the judges. Big thanks to our parade CoChairs, Myndi Verderame and Fred Hopkins for making sure we have a great parade for the community.
Last but certainly not least, a huge thank you to Sussex County, The Georgetown Police Department who coordinates all of the logistics and the Georgetown Public Works Department who keeps everything together before and after the parade and the Georgetown Fire Department, as well as all the many police from the surrounding towns to help make sure all our attendees have a fun and safe time as we usher in the holidays.

Let It Snow!
Oh the weather outside is frightful, But the fire is so delightful, And since we’ve no place to go, Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!
It doesn’t show signs of stopping, And I brought some corn for popping, The lights are turned way down low, Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!
When we finally kiss good night. How I’ll hate going out in the storm!
But if you’ll really hold me tight All the way home I’ll be warm. The fire is slowly dying
And my dear, we’re still goodbyeing, But as long as you love me so, Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer
Had a very shiny nose.
And if you ever saw him, You would even say it glows.
All of the other reindeer
Used to laugh and call him names. They never let poor Rudolph Join in any reindeer games.
Then one foggy Christmas Eve
Santa came to say: “Rudoph with your nose so bright, Won’t you guide my sleigh tonight?”
Then all the reindeer loved him
As they shouted out with glee, Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer, You’ll go down in history!
