The Children’s Choir of Saint Michael the Archangel and the Marimba Band are honored to dedicate this year’s performances at Caroling on The Circle to the memory of Sister María Dolores Mairlot.
Sister María was so proud of the children and families who made Caroling on The Circle a cherished tradition each year.
Sister María’s legacy of faith and music lives on in all who knew her.

On behalf of the Sussex County Council, I want to personally thank you for coming out to this year’s Caroling on The Circle, our 41st anniversary edition of this wonderful community singing event!
After a rousing success last year, we are excited once again to partner with the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce for their annual Christmas parade. There is no better way to see community pride on display than by gathering in one place for a night of celebration. It’s that very sense of community that drives the Caroling on The Circle/Pack the Pod campaign to help those less fortunate in our community each and every holiday season, and this year is no different.
Since the first Caroling event in the 1980s to now, generous contributions from the community have amounted to more than 800,000 food items for local food pantries. That’s a meaningful difference that has surely brightened the holiday season for hungry families right here in Sussex County!
Thank you once again for joining us for the 2024 celebration, and for your steadfast support of Caroling on The Circle over the years. On behalf of the County Council and the entire County government, best wishes for a wonderful and joyous holiday season!

The coming together for a 2nd year the County’s Caroling on the Circle with their annual “pack the pod” with the Christmas Parade made perfect sense and we are all looking forward to begin with the sights and sounds of the holiday season and both long standing traditions here in Georgetown.
We are so excited to see what the 110 + parade entrants come up for the theme of 2024 - The Magic & Music of Christmas. We are also honored to announce our Grand Marshal’s this year - The Megee Family, owners of Megee Motors right here in Georgetown.
We invite everyone to come out to the circle on Thursday, December 5th, listen to the sounds of the season with Caroling, plan to have dinner with our many restaurants (Maudy’s, Vanderwende’s & Caruso’s) right near The Circle and the food trucks that will be in front of Family Court. (Cindy’s Meals on Wheels, Bobbie Chuckie’s vending and Freebirds Mobile Bar). Also returning to The Circle is Discover Church who will be handing out hot chocolate. We will also have State Farm, Hunter Emory and The Wild Fern joining us.

PLEASE bring canned goods for donation to the Sussex County Administrative Offices building from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday or you can bring canned goods to The Circle at 6:00 pm on Thursday, December 7.
Sussex County government is encouraging the public to do their part now to “Pack the Pod” –a 14 foot by 7 foot portable storage shed now set up at The Circle– with canned goods and other food items for the area’s less fortunate.
