The regular monthly meeting for the Howe ISD Board of Trustees will take place tonight (Monday) October 17 at 6 pm at the Howe ISD Administration Office located at 105 W. Tutt St, Howe, Texas.

The board will discuss typical items such as monthly financial reports, quarterly investment reports, enrollment, and personnel. But also on the agenda is a call for a public hearing on Nov. 14 to discuss the 2021-22 FIRST Report. Also on the agenda is the annual facility use by Howe Youth Basketball as well as an updated vendor list.

The board will also discuss district and campus improvement plans as well as stipend schedules.

Howe P&Z and council to discuss planned development north of Howe High School

The Howe Planning & Zoning Commission of the City of Howe, Texas will meet on October 18, 2022, at 5:30 p.m. 700 W. Haning Street, Howe, Texas where they will consider and make recommendations to the Howe City Council regarding an application Requested by Howe Cope Stryker, LLC, a Texas limited liability company.

The property is a tract of land north of Howe High School consisting of 122.025 acres situated in the Charles Kimble Survey, Abstract No. 678 and the Marion G. Fellers Survey, Abstract No. 426, Grayson County, Texas. This is for the purpose of a zoning request seeking amendments to the City of Howe Zoning Ordinance and creation of City of Howe Planned Development District-6 (PD-6) (Ponderosa Point). The proposed uses include single family residential, multifamily residential (high density multifamily residential), build to rent (lower-density multifamily residential/ single-family lease), townhouse residential, and commercial uses.

The P&Z will consider the change from single-family (SF-1) to PD-6.

Following the meeting, the city council will meet at 6 pm and will make the final decision on the same planned development.

Also on the council agenda are routine items such as minutes from last meeting, finance statements, and the closure of the 100 block of Haning Street for the Downtown Howe-lloween Festival on Saturday, October 2022.

Howe Community Library Director Torrey Stricklin will give the library and summer activity report.

Susan LaFollett will give a short presentation for the 2021 year-ending audit.

Resolution 2022-0006—a resolution of the City of Howe, Texas, authorizing professional service provider selection for a 2023/2024 Texas community development block grant program –community development fund grant through the Texas department of agriculture tion for a 2023/2024 Texas Community Development Block Grant program –Community Development Fund Grant through the Texas Department of Agriculture.

Resolution 2022-0008—a resolution of the City of Howe, Texas adopting a code of conduct policy related to procurement for federal grants.

Ordinance No. 797—an ordinance of the city council of the City of Howe, Texas, establishing and regulating plat review and inspection fees; amending ordinance 722, section 5.04, filing and inspection charges; establishing standards and procedures; providing for a penalty not to exceed the sum of five hundred and no/100 dollars ($500.00) for each offense and a separate offense shall be deemed committed each day during or on which a violation occurs or continues; providing for other enforcement proceedings; providing a repealer clause; providing a severability clause; providing for publication; providing for an effective date as the date of publication as required by law; and finding and determining that the meeting at which this ordinance is passed is open as required by law.

Ordinance No. 798—An ordinance by the City Council of the City of Howe, Texas relating to the Greater Texoma Utility Authority Contract Revenue Bonds, Series 2022 (Collin/Grayson Water Transmission Project) and approving the issuance thereof and the facilities to be constructed or acquired by such Authority.
