adults. “We will always have great productions and entertain our theater goers, but we need to increase our diversity and enthusiasm through superior teaching programs.” Dunn, a 1985 Howe High School graduate, holds a bachelor’s degree from Austin College in English with an associate degree in Theater Arts from Lon Morris College. While at Lon Morris he became a member of Phi Theta Kappa, the Theater Honor Fraternity.

Dunn has a deep history in the performing arts in the Texoma area having appeared in many productions, most recently performing SCP’s Blithe Spirit. He has also directed successful productions such as The Trip to Bountiful and the Importance of Being Earnest.

SCP board president, Ed Richardson, says of Dunn, “Darrah has been impressing audiences with his performances on stage for thirty years, and I am looking forward to seeing his creativity and talent for collaborating with others used in new ways in his role as Managing Artistic Director. Darrah understands the importance of honoring the history of SCP while embracing opportunities and looking to the future.” Sponsored by First United Bank and Texoma Medical Center, The Sound of Music directed by Darrah Dunn opens June 3 at the Finley Theater with performances June 3, 4, 5, 9, 10, 11, 12, 16, 17, 18, 19, 23, 24, 25, and 26.
