Lady Bulldogs fly into district play with a win over Leonard and loss to Whitewright So while the ISD is interviewing prospective football coaches, let’s all clean up our yards, decorate our houses, act like we love and agree on our school colors, brag about our rich winning history (albeit mainly in the 1930s, 40s, and 80s), and let’s agree to all wear just one of our 47 different Bulldog logos to create the image that we have pride and tradition. ***** For about three weeks, my broadcast crew (Studio42) has been the home radio voice of the South Oak Cliff Golden Bears. We traveled to The Star in Frisco, Shotwell Stadium in Abilene, and on Saturday we got to do the Class 5A-II State Championship game. The story of the 2021 South Oak Cliff Golden Bears will have to be told in a movie one day. It was very cool to be a part of that. There will be a parade Tuesday for the team who is Dallas ISD’s first champion since 1958. Great story. Former Howe ISD Board of Trustee member announces candidacy for County Judge The candidacy of Bruce Dawsey for Grayson County Judge was announced Monday standing in front of the Kidd Key Auditorium in Sherman. Dawsey is currently the assistant chief for the Sherman Police Department. He’s been a law enforcement officer for 35 years beginning as a military police officer. He was a school board member at Howe for nine years and is currently on the city council at Van Alstyne. “Bruce is a man of integrity. He has a history of public service,” said Shawn Teamann as he introduced Dawsey on Monday. “He has been on the right side of the law his entire adult life.” Dawsey will be challenging sitting Grayson County Judge Bill Magers who has held

that seat since being elected in 2014. “Now’s a time for change in Grayson County,” said Dawsey. “Throughout my life, I’ve served our great county either through the military or police service. Just like you, I’m a hard worker, and just like you, I believe in my values, and just like you, I believe in American exceptionalism, and just like you, I understand the concepts of right and wrong.” Dawsey said he would run a positive and clean campaign, however, there are certain things the public should know about. “I do not believe that government-elected officials should get rich while serving the public,” said Dawsey who went on to say he didn’t believe in backdoor deals or secret handshakes that tax-

Bruce Dawsey payers are unaware of. “I plan to rebrand Grayson County with transparency and honesty,” said Dawsey. “I will never embarrass the judicial office.” Primary elections will be on March 1, 2022, and Election Day is November 8, 2022. Current County Judge Bill Magers is seeking a third term. He was elected in 2014 and ran unopposed in 2018. He had previously served two terms as Sherman mayor.
