HHS Student speaks to Rotarians about Texas Boys State experience Howe JV blanks Ponder, 22-0

Jackson Wilson of Howe High School spoke to the Hurricane Creek Rotary Club on Thursday about his experience at Texas Boys State He was sponsored by the Anna American Legion Post #194

In June, Wilson spent a week at the University of Texas in Austin and learned about how the gears of state government work together.

Wilson is involved in a number of activities at Howe High School and is planning on attending the Oklahoma State University next fall.

He is the son of Clay and Alicia Wilson of Howe

Howe and Ponder were tied at the half without either team scoring, but Williams got Howe on the board with a 16-yard run He also ran in the 2-point conversion to give the Dogs an 80 lead

Later, Matt Hayes scored on a 36-yarder to up the lead to 14-0 entering the fourth quarter

Howe freshman Ryan Hough had a 42-yard touchdown reception from Kaleb McNutt called back on a penalty, but the two would later hookup for a 10-yard pass for a touchdown Damien Wilson ran in the 2-point conversion to give Howe a 22-0 lead late in the game

Howe had a great defensive effort with fumble recoveries by Braeden Wise and Landin Duty Jaryn Grisham also played well defensively
