Howe started the week with a 6-0 loss to Bells with Mason Riggs going six-plus innings But the week finished very strong as Howe (4-8) got their first win of the season on Thursday over North Hopkins, 10-2, as Garrett Grigg and Arturo Lowder combined to allow no earned runs Lowder needed only 18 pitches in his two innings The bats also came alive behind the good pitching as Jalen Thornton, Kyler Anderson, Riggs, and Dyson Dillard all had multi-hit games

Later that evening Dylan Hughs took the hill against Sam Rayburn and pitched four strong innings striking out five and walking three, allowing no runs on one hit Meanwhile, the bats continued to be hot as Howe racked up 16 hits Multi-hits were had by Riggs, Krantz, Joseph Brennan, and Jake Catching The final was Howe 10, Sam Rayburn 2

On Friday, Howe took on Collinsville and Coach Ryan

Moreau went with Lowder to start the game Lowder pitched four innings allowing only one run and scattering five hits He struck out three and allowed no walks Hughs and Anderson led Howe with a 3hit game each as Dillard, and Krantz, each had two hits in the 16hit Bulldog barrage

Howe finished the tournament on Saturday afternoon with an 11-6 win over Alvord Parker Pecina and Lane Stracener combined to go four innings, allowing three earned runs Hughs again had the big day at the plate driving in four runs on two doubles Grigg also had a big day with three RBI on two hits

In the week opener with Bells, Howe found themselves with a record of 0-8 after playing mostly teams of higher classification to start the season Riggs went 6 1 innings, allowing only one earned run on five hits He struck out six but allowed five free passes.

Grigg came in to relieve Riggs and recorded two outs, allowing two hits, and a walk while striking out one.

Howe only scattered six hits against Bells with Johnson leading the way with two hits

The Howe JV has a record of 4-3 as they have also won four straight This week, Howe beat Bells 6-1, Van Alstyne 7-2, and Aubrey 9-5

Marissa Agee sets Howe school 800 meter record

Marissa Agee set a Howe High School track school record in the 800 meters Thursday evening in Van Alstyne with a time of 2:20.13. The previous record was held by Baleigh Hudman in 2013 at 2:25 72

Agee will be competing this week in four events at Nationals at USATF Hershey Youth Indoor National Championship Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex, Staten Island, New York She is running with Texas Mid-Distance Elite. Her events are the 800 meters, 4×400 meter relay, 4×800 meter relay, and the Distance Medley

Agee is the daughter of Brian and Ginger Agee of Howe
