Facing the storms of 2018
Happy New Year! It usually takes me about three months to get used to writing/typing the new year. So hopefully the next edition will say 2019. Last week the Howe Fire Department reported on their Facebook feed to warn drivers of a power line down at the intersection of Neal and Young Streets. This prompted a question about possible obstruction at the intersection of Crosby Stills and Nash. a If you're reading this edition, it means we had safe travels back from the Orange Bowl. The Enterprise had to cover the Oklahoma Sooners this weekend. Heard it might be a tax write off if we post the score and give some insight on what it was like in Miami Gardens. Our beloved Sooners lost, 45-34. First of all, here's a lesson on how to present a weekend trip to your wife in order to see your team play in a bowl game. Ask your wife, "Darling, would you like to go to Miami Beach for the weekend and maybe Downtown Miami?" After she gives her roaring approval, announce that since we're already in the area we might as well attend the Orange Bowl. What not to do is what I did - Make an announcement that we're going to the Orange Bowl for a quick weekend round trip. Thank you to Avis Rental Car and Miami Beach, we both won. The only downer of the weekend was Oklahoma's first quarter against Alabama. I'm now requesting a good CPA.
