Multi-chamber luncheon tomorrow featuring Collin County Commissioner



The Interurban Alley quarterly luncheon will take place Tuesday at Hurricane Creek Golf Course from 11:30 am to 1 pm The Interurban Alley is the name of the four chambers of commerce, Anna, Melissa, Van Alstyne, and Howe, that partner together to provide multi-level networking opportunities
The guest speaker will be Collin County Commissioner, Precinct 3 Judge Darrell Hale The commissioner is a US Army veteran who attained the rank of captain Hale graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point which routinely tops the top public educations in the United States with multiple number one rankings by Forbes, US News and World Report, and
the Princeton Review
The luncheon is $25 at the door and will allow each person to give a brief description of their business

The two girls enlisted the help of freshman Riley Burris and spend many hours working on the projects
"We just stayed after school and asked if she needed help with anything and one thing led to another," said junior Kaden Bateman
Bateman said all three girls came up with the design and made it look like a child painted it
Bethany Van Deren, a junior, said she volunteered to do the work and stayed after school until 9 pm for two weeks
Rylee Burris said she wasn't in art class but said she is a creative and that helped with the prop design which was for the theme "Child's Play"

Bateman said that Liss gave them some direction, but let them freely go on their own with their ideas
"She told us to do what we thought would look best and gave us the reigns," said Bateman
Liss said that she could not be more happy with the outcome and stated that it turned out better than anything she could have ordered
"I even had other schools asking where we got ours," said Liss
"A lot of people were proud of the work that we did and Mrs Liss was especially proud," said Bateman
The Howe Area Chamber of Commerce decided to theme the Christmas parade this year as "TOYLAND" which will give the band an opportunity to once again use the props that the band students designed The three girls were thrilled to find out the news of the
