Howe athlete earns bronze medal

Howe High School entering sophomore Marissa Agee recently competed at the AAU Junior Olympics National Championships at Drake University in Des Moines, IA She and her teammates with Team Quest finished third in the 4x800 relay to earn a bronze medal and a lifetime of bragging rights

The team which includes Jamison Gladney, Casey Cruz, Suzanne Ramirez, and Agee finished with a time of 9:55 10 which placed them third of 15 teams and earned them a bronze medal

The team also competed in the 4x400 relay where they placed 17 of 45 teams with a time of 4:04 46

During this race, Agee ran a personal best time of 59 84 during her leg of the race

Agee also ran the 800-meter individual event where she placed 36 of 77 with a time of 2:26 76 '

In mid-July, Agee competed at the University of Texas San Antonio at the USATF Region 12 Championships where she ran the 800 meters and placed 8 of 15 runners with a time of 2:28 15
