"Buck" stops in Lampasas

Three new businesses opening in Howe this week

Former Howe coach hangs up the headset after a quarter century

The article to the right is about Howe's former head coach from 1990-92. He once retired from football to take the athletic director position at Lampasas where he was not a coach. After Lampasas went 0-20, the school board asked him to do what he always has done - turn a program around. And he did. Now that he has once again retired from coaching and has accepted the assistant principal position at, you guessed it, Lampasas, he better hope the team has a couple of good years ahead of them. Would it really surprise anyone if Lampasas would ask McQueen to take over again if they had a bad couple of years? Any takers? He's always been known for the comeback. The remains of a man trying to escape the volcanic eruption of Mount Vesuvius nearly 2,000 years ago were found in Pompeii, Italy, this week, and the photographs have become a meme. Why would people do this? Because the internet is a bad place. The man was thought to be heading to safety and escaped the first volcanic eruption, but was subsequently crushed by a large stone in the process. Or maybe he was hit by Wile E. Coyote's greatgreat-great-great-greatgreat-great-grandfather. HoweEnterprise.com Readership Jan. 1 - June 2, 2018 Sessions: 43,215 Users: 20,757 Pageviews: 231,859

One of the things that Howe's new Athletic Director Bill Jehling has done is to continue the abundance of activities for young Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs to participate in. For entering seventh grade through senior football players, there's a strength camp that those players are expected to participate in. While to camp is voluntary, it is a great way to impress the coaches by showing work-ethic and
