Former Price Hanning's Garage rezoned as a residential home

The Howe City Council officially rezoned the former building known as Price Hanning's Garage on S Hughes Street from commercial to single-family

The building was purchased by Jack Leavenworth a couple of years ago and transformed into a living area for he and his wife Leavenworth stated that in dealing with financial institutions that he had to have the building re-zoned to single-family

There were four surrounding properties that approved the request and one that disapproved The Howe Planning & Zoning Committee approved the rezoning on Monday night and the city council approved it on Tuesday in a four to one vote Bill French opposed

(Editor's note: We were told that the downtown property will automatically revert back to commercial upon transaction )
