It was a spectacular finish for the track program last week as both the Howe varsity boys and girls finish in first place The boys finished with a total of 180 points while the girls totaled 184

Mason Riggs, the standout sophomore athlete finished first in the popular 100 meters event with a time of 11 14 Cameron Blesi finished first in the 200 meters at 23 90 Hunter Cheatham finished third in the 800 meters with a time of 2:13 02 In the 1600 meters, Howe had three place with Ryan Carney finishing third (5:40 67), Gage Underwood fourth (5:41 90), and Hunter Cheatham fifth (5:43 62) In the 3200 meters, Brice Honaker finished fourth with a time of 13 04 while Mike Helpenstell finished fifth at 13 10 Three hurdlers placed in the 110 meter event with Dawson McDonald finishing in second with a time of 15 96 Chase

Clayton was right behind him at 16 18 for third Landry Elvington finished fourth at 17.43. Chase Clayton took first in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 45 18

Howe also took first place in the 4x100 meter relay with Blesi, Brent Masters, Riggs and Brandon Wall teaming for a time of 44 46

Not to be outdone, the 4x200 meter relay Howe team also took first with Kyler Anderson, Masters, Riggs, and Blesi with a time of 1:35 27 Howe finished second in the 4x400 meter relay with McDonald, Clayton, Anderson, and Wall finishing with a time of 3:51 39

In the field events, Ty Harvey took home first place in the long jump at 17'-7" Matt Griffin placed second in the discus with a distance of 110'-7" Clay Marshall finished fourth at 107'-3,1/2" In the triple jump, McDonald took first place with a jump of 41'-6" while Harvey placed second at 40'-3" Harvey also won the high jump at 5'-8" and Ryan Carney finished fourth at 5'-2"

Just as the boys, the girls took first place in the 100 meters with Madisyn Hargrove clocking in at 12 67 Jamie Taylor finished third at 13 34 and Erin Blackburn placed fourth at 13 64 Emily Sanders finished second in the 200 meter dash with a time of 29 26 Kamryn Fulenchek placed third at 29 99 while Megan Davies took sixth with a time of 30 74 In the 400 meters, Payton Griffin finished third at 1:09 86 while Taylor Hartsfield finished fifth with a time of 1:10 58 Christian Sutherland finished first for Howe in the 1600 meters with a time of 6:07 00 She also finished first in the 3200 meters with a time of 13 05 Callie Vick placed second in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 19 30 while Bethany Masters took first place in the 300 meter hurdles at 50 87

In the 4x100 meter relay, Howe finished second with Hargrove, Peyton Streetman, Sanders, and Blackburn running a time of 54 74 Howe took first place in the 4x200 relay with a time of 1:51 37 by Blackburn, Masters, Landry Rhoten, and Taylor The Howe girls also won the 4x400 relay with Taylor, Rhoten, Vick, and Masters running a time of 4:21 14

In the field events, Masters placed first in the long jump with a leap of 13'-10" and Davies took fifth at 13'-1" Howe's Kam Kline finished fourth in the shot put with a launch of 28'-8,1/4" Rhoten placed third in the discus with a throw of 93'-6,1/2" and Kline finished fourth with 78'-10" Madison Mosier placed sixth with a throw of 74'-9"

Masters won the triple jump with a leap of 32'-6,1/2" followed with a second place finish by Blackburn at 32'-6" Sanders finished fifth at 29'-5,1/2"
