Howe moves to 4-1 with 56-27 win over Caddo Mills

The reality: You know how this one turned out. You're reading this online, right? "No one will buy anything over the Web. The reality: In a word, Amazon (AMZN). The IPad was predicted in 1968 through Stanley Kubrick to complete the film and novel versions of 2001: A Space Odyssey. In the film, two astronauts can be seen reading a newspaper on something that looks suspiciously like an iPad. As odd as that is, the description—and name —of the device given in Clarke’s novel is even more startling: The Newspad was plugged into the ship’s information circuit and could scan the latest reports from Earth's major electronic papers. Has the internet made this world better or us better people? Or even smarter people? That is an entirely different conversation that makes me sound like a really old man when I argue my point.
Very few 3A, Division I teams could travel on the road and face two 4A teams in back-to-back weeks and come out 2-0. After taking down Quinlan Ford a week ago, the Bulldogs headed southeast again Friday night to take on 4A Caddo Mills. The result was an offensive explosion that netted 578 rushing yards, 11 shy of the school record set two years ago versus Tom Bean. Howe will now have a week off to heal a few injuries and prepare for a District 5-3A showdown with Pottsboro that appears to be a clash of North Texas powerhouses. Park grant to be discussed at tomorrow's council meeting A portion of tomorrow (Tuesday) night's city council meeting will be dedicated to the issue of the future of the 46 acres owned by the City of Howe. The property was purchased in 1999 for the intended use of a city park and recreation area. Back in 2005, community members began working on a project to do just that, but when the economy took a nose dive in 2007 and city funds became scarce, the ideas for the park were scrapped. Since then, the city has let the public haul off brush on the property. But those days appear to be limited as Terri Wilson, the city's grant writer is seeking a $75,000 matching funds grant from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Small Community Grant.
