leading of the Holy Spirit

“The Holy Spirit will show you what is true The people of this world cannot accept Him, because they don’t see or know Him But you do know the Holy Spirit, who is with you and He will be in you,” John 14:17

When you are looking at black and white it’s easy to pick the white it’s the gray you need discernment for All Christians have the Holy Spirit living in them but non believers do not That’s why the world is deceived into thinking the gray is so wonderful Deception starts with enough truth to bate and then becomes for from the truth for the trap. Pilots fly by instruments, not by sight If the calculations are off by a fraction at take off it could be thousands of miles wrong before it’s corrected All along the pilot believes he is leading the passengers to their desired destination when in reality it could be death or destruction or in the least far off course God knows the path set before us and offers to direct our footsteps with the help of the Holy Spirit The choice is yours You can go it alone and take the journey with uncertainty, or you can take each step with confidence following the

Jesus gives us the promise that the Holy Spirit will be our Counselor and Guide “And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever,” John 14:16. Jesus was speaking to those who believe and made Him Lord of their lives Those living apart from God cannot receive the help of the Holy Spirit; only those who have personally accepted Christ have received the Spirit into their lives and benefit from the direction of the Holy Spirit Until you accept Jesus as your personal Savior, your mind is on a different wavelength and you are incapable of tuning in the voice of the Holy Spirit to receive direction and guidance You’re running blind We have all run into various obstacles tripping and falling along the way In Romans 3:23, the Bible says, all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God Even as believers, with the Holy Spirit inside to guide us, we can be sinful and stubborn and determined to get our own way even if it’s not what God wants We have a tendency to fail to live up to God’s expectations; we run off course and missed the mark. You can be forgiven and make a fresh start if you admit your sins to the Lord and ask Him and those effected for forgiveness God is trustworthy

When you choose to rely upon the Holy Spirit you can have confidence in God for every step you take You are no longer blind When you choose to trust God be assured that He will safely lead you, step by step if you stop and wait on His guidance The Holy Spirit comes along side to help similar to how I help kids learn how to paint with the correct brush for the correct stroke I hold their hand and guide the angle of the brush as we paint together As we gain knowledge of the truth in God’s word we will gain sensitivity to the Holy Spirit’s guide We learn to listen to the Holy Spirit He has a still quite voice you learn to recognize and rely on.

Rely upon the Spirit to live differently than the world Jesus called the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth Half-truths, error and lies, anything false or counterfeit, comes in an infinite number of wolves in sheep’s clothing Truth is never changing It was recorded in the beginning of time and still remains unchanged by progression Our tolerant and political correct culture will never see the truth because it’s impossible without the Holy Spirit’s guidance He is here for the believers and doesn’t exist in an unbeliever’s life Nevertheless truth is absolute If something is true, then it is universally true for everyone The truth is true regardless of whether you and I choose to believe it or not. Politics will never change the truth Religion will never change the truth Culture will never change the truth Evil will never change the truth and good will never change the truth God is the truth and He can not lie When the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of truth comes to live within you, you will live differently The Spirit leads according to truth and not what may be popular The true test of a believer will be a steadfast grounding in God’s truth no matter what the world’s views become We are to control our flesh (our sin nature) and submit it to the will of God (our new man in Christ Jesus) This is and always will be a black and white battle between good and evil

“But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you won't fulfill the lust of the flesh For the flesh lusts against the Spirit and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, that you may not do the things that you desire But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law Now the works of the flesh are obvious, which are: adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousies, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies, envying, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these; of which I forewarn you, even as I also forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the Kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control Against such things there is no law Those who belong to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts” Galatians 5:16 -24

Horton Ceramics, located in Eastland, Texas, was started in 1946 and operated until 1964 when the pottery was sold Horace Horton made vases, console sets, candy boxes, and planters, many designed by his wife, Geraldine

Mrs Horton’s head vases were perhaps the most unique and beautiful of all her designs A large lady head vase was offered in 8” and 10” heights, with blond hair and brightly colored makeup At market shows, Mrs Horton would place a doily inside the head and finish it off with artificial flowers to form an arrangement Baby head vases with either a pink or blue bonnet tied under the chin were produced in three sizes, 4” , 6”, and 7” A 10” tall head vase called Aztec Woman had a brilliant mango color glaze that contrasted with brown, black, and turquioise matte finishes Another head vase, the Madonna, was produced in a blue hood and red dress or plain white high gloss glaze

Pieces are marked “Horton Ceramics” and with a number and letter This is one of the contemporary Texas potteries that sell at garage sales, flea markets and some antique malls The asking price seems to depend on size, design, color, and where it is sold I have seen it for as little as
