Howe is 56-76 overall in games with their new district opponents The best success has been against Callisburg (8-3) and Whitesboro (8- 3) However, the 'Dogs are 1734 against Van Alstyne, 10-17 versus Pilot Point and 13-19 in games with Pottsboro

The "Silver Spike" will be a remarkable evening this fall Howe will travel to Van Alstyne in week nine to renew the age-old rivalry that dates back to 1941 In 2016, it is primarily for fans as these kids rarely have played the Panthers due to the different sizes in schools over the past several years When Van Alstyne's Georgetown development took place ten years ago, the southern sister town had a major embarkation in population which disassociated the rivalry for years Now that Summit Hill is on the horizon, the renewal of the rivalry seems imminent for many generations to come
