Days
and I've never seen a group of kids go the extra mile and not have to be told to and it's gone very well " said Farrer on Friday afternoon
The kids were visibly tired on the second day (Friday) There were 28 youth on Thursday and 29 on Friday They completed three projects in two days including painting Peggy's Porch behind City Hall They also cleared out brush and beautified the grounds of a house at the southwest intersection of Mayo and Maple Streets. The same type of work happened at the northeast corner of Farmington Road and Walnut Street With so many volunteers, they had enough to go to the south side of Howe and pick up brush that residents had left curbside awaiting pick up from the city or county

Farrer, who's Bulldog pride is still effervescent, has been in Tom Bean for many years now and entrenched himself in the orange and black of the Tomcats due to his marriage to a Tom Bean graduate
A Tom Bean school board member and a parent of Tom Bean kids, he is enjoying the time he gets to be in Howe again with the move of CBF
"Growing up in the community all my life, I love it " said Farrer "I drove the kids all over town from job site to job site Once you get to talk to the people that we helped and see how grateful they are - it just kind of brightens their day and gives them somone one to visit with them more than anything else "
Farrer says that it's very important for the kids to be a part of this. "We try to instill in these kids they need to be part of the solution and not part of the problem " said Farrer "They have the ability to change people's lives and this is certanily a good way for them to learn to do that "
One of the young volunteers was soon-to-be Howe High School graduate Danni Ross who said it was great because she loves helping people

"I'll put myself in the middle of something and if I see someone standing around, I'll tell them to go do this " said Ross "I think continued on page 5 continued from page 1 things " said Grant "They have been representing Howe very well Always on time, well mannered and complimented by many people including our tour director"
The group so far has been to St Paul's Cathedral, Big Ben, London Eye, Trafalgar Square, Shakespeare's Globe Theatre and even saw the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace
They've also checked off Westminster Abbey, Tower of London, London Bridge, Jack the Rippers hunting grounds, British World History Museum, Windsor Castle (and the queen was home), Notre Dame, Louvre (the home of Mona Lisa), Eiffel Tower, Versailles Palace (house of French Kings), Moulin continued on page 4
