Little is remembered about Mr. Tighe who died in his early fifties. Mrs. Tighe, who's name was Beatrice was a colorful figure in Howe. She was tall with big black eyes and always dressed in black and wore black silk bonnets. Her great sorrow was the death of her beautiful daughter, who died during the flu epidemic of 1918. Mrs. Tighe did not live long after her death.
