City receives block grant to improve streets
The City of Howe has received a block grant awarded by the Texas Department of Agriculture in the amount of $193,045 in order to fix local city streets The city's share of the amount is $25,000.
The streets that are to be repaired are West Travis, North Jones, North Bean, Tutt and part of Tiffany Court which are all in the area of the Howe ISD Administration office

"One of the requirements for these grants is that it will benefit mostly low to moderate income households." said Mayor Jeff Stanley. "54 percent of the persons that live in this area meet that criteria."
The total repair work will include five blocks
