Fulenchek pitches in alumni game; Hargrove is MVP
“Beloved, let us love one another, for love is God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love,” 1 John 4:7-8. God is the source of all love.
“In this the love of God was manifested towards us, that God has sent His only begotten son into the world, that we might live through Him This is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the price for our sins,” 1 John 4:9-10 God models what genuine love is
“Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another,” 1 John 4:11 God commands us toes love each other. It’s because we have experienced the sacrificial love that Christ has for us that we are capable of loving others. Because God is who He says He is, Love, we can love like He tells us to love. You can trust God because He loves you and will not set you up for failure He will never tell you to do something that He has not equipped you to do “No one has seen God at any time If we love one another, God abid in us, and His love has been perfected in us,” 1 John 4:12 The love of believers is like no other love on this earth It literally is God loving others through you This is evident and concretes the activity of God among you This love is what the unbeliever longs for.
The love of God is an action. He sent His Son to die for our sins. Jesus came to serve not to be served. He modeled love for His disciples when He washed their feet before His death (John 13:1-17). Love that doesn’t express itself in service to others is not love (1 John 3:16-18) God will not judge how great you are by how many servants you have but rather how much you serve because of the great love you have

On a cool, yet pleasant evening at the ol' Howe baseball field, some former Howe Bulldogs showed up from the corn field just like the movie Field of Dreams The biggest name and attraction was that of the 66th MLB draft choice from a year ago, Atlanta Braves prospect Garrett Fulenchek
Fulenchek was limited to 30 pitches in his outing due to his training regiment with the Braves farm system He was wild in his one inning of action, walking three and hitting a batter before striking out the side All said in done, he threw exactly 30 pitches and his last pitch was a swinging strike Fulenchek gave up two runs which left the game tied after the first inning
His catcher Dusty Womack had quite the time trying to catch the 90-plus mile per hour fastball Freshman David Crees was drilled right in the back with one of Fulenchek's heaters and it sounded like a Remington 20-gauge in dove season Fulenchek walked over to first base and shook hands with Crees to make sure he was okay.
While Fulenchek was the draw for the large crowd gathering, it was former Bulldog Devin Hargrove who made it worth the audience's time to sit in the chilly elements Hargrove relieved Fulenchek in the second inning and went 5 and 2/3 inning of relief and only allowing one run while striking out eight Bulldogs Hargrove also chipped in two RBIs in the game
David Lopez also drove in two RBI's to give the alumni the eventual runs needed to win by a score of 7-3 Garrett Fulenchek's father, James, fanned the last batter to get the final out
The alumni now have won two of the three games played against Howe since 2009
There was a four-way tie for first place in the home run derby prior to the game Hargove, Lopez, Ryan Veal and Monte Walker all hit one out in the contest Walker is declared the winner due to age and the fact that he can write this in the publication which surely makes it official
The alumni donated enough money for the program to buy some new equipment
