Every girl want shoes, but not like this girl Howe Girl Scout recognized
Howe third grader, Catelyn Armstrong wanted shoes for her birthday, but not for herself.

Howe third grader, Catelyn Armstrong, recently celebrated her 9th birthday Instead of gifts, Catelyn suggested her friends and family donate a pair of new or gently used shoes. She will be sending the shoes to the "Buckner Shoes for Orphan Souls" program. Catelyn said "It isn't fair for people to not have shoes and we have shoes We get all the shoes that we want but some people don't get shoes and they have to go bare footed " She was concerned that others might get hurt or germs on their feet. Miss Armstrong collected over 60 pairs of shoes that will be given to those in need. She is the daughter of Chris and Michelle Armstrong and the granddaughter of Carrol Dean and Cecilia Armstrong and Robert and Katherine Gunn
Local Girl Scout, Shellby Armstrong, was recognized at a recent Library Board meeting for the Howe Community Library Miss Armstrong created a blessing tree in the library to earn her Silver Award The decorative tree will be used to post good news of the community. Miss Armstrong is the daughter of Chris and Michelle Armstrong and the granddaughter of Carrol Dean and Cecilia Armstrong and Robert and Katherine Gunn

The Howe Community Library hosted the middle school's Scholastic Book Fair in December Based on purchases, the library was able to keep over $700 worth of books These books will be added to the collection Students also contributed $44 in spare change to purchase books to be placed in the library The next middle school book fair will be in October The library extends a big thank you to everyone that came by and supported the Book Fair
