NEWSPAPER TITLE Volume #1, Issue #1

Monday, March 17, 2014

Howe Has a Weekly "Newspaper" It's been a number of years since Howe has had a newspaper called "The Howe Enterprise", but as of today, the "newspaper" has new life. It might carry the old name, but the age of printing has gone by the wayside and a new era and a look to the future for "The Howe Enterprise" will rise up from the ink-stained coffin and inject the lifeblood of social media mania. This once popular town newspaper will serve again as news about our local town and the kids and adults that make this great city of ours a great little place to raise a family. It will not, however, be available in print. Just as "Pop" Sloan was quoted in the first ever addition of "The Howe Enterprise", I'm not here to make a killing but to be a benefit to the town and community.

Ferguson and North Baseball Fields Gets Updates

Howe's That ? My Grandfather, Bob Walker started using this column called "Howe's That ?" back in 1966 when he purchased "The Howe Enterprise" and I thought it would be just a family tribute to dust off this non-masterpiece of a side column and use some "in other news" types of information. This will not be a family newspaper in the sense of making my family front and center. But it will be a family newspaper in the sense that we as a community are a family and I will gloat about that. I will welcome any photos or news stories about anything regarding our town. I will report the news as fair and honest as my Grandfather did in 1966-74. I will seek the truth on all city issues. I thank you in advance for your help.

A lot of residents of Howe might not even know that a city flag exists for Howe. Probably because of that, the newly formed organization called Keep Howe Beautiful has decided a makeover was in store for the forgotten flag. The proposal for the flag change will be submitted to the City Council on Tuesday night. Continued on Page #2

Just before the season is underway, A.M. Ferguson Field received a much needed new dress. The field was given a new windscreeen on the city fence to make the view much more attractive for patrons to the field. It is estimated that more photos are uploaded to social media at Ferguson Field than in other place outdoors in our town. Continued on Page #2
