HOWE’S HAPPENINGS Victory Independent Publishing
In the City Council article this week we have more information than usual about current and upcoming developments, quotes from those in attendance, and the numbers, as usual, for the departmental reports, City bills, etc. We are so proud of the local photographer Michelle Carney, who also gives so much of her time to our paper, for her acknowledgement of 20 years working with Howe ISD. She is a tremendous gift to the students of Howe ISD and to The Howe Enterprise. She will be stepping down as our main sports photographer next year, due to joyful changes in her life but we will of course be thankful for her continued part-time work with us. We will cover her more in an article in the coming weeks, but we are proud to share her acknowledgement from Howe ISD on our front page, today. Vendor spaces for the upcoming Founder’s Day Festival are officially full, but overflow spaces are available, for now. The Howe Hall of Honor Induction Ceremony and Chamber awards will be held next Tuesday. More information can be found in the “City of Howe” section.

The City Council met to discuss departmental reports, and the action items on the agenda, including approval of the City Secretary, Michelle Hewitt’s resignation, and
addition of a new City Secretary. The meeting began with citizen comments, which included Kent Lowder sharing that Connections Park is complete. Lowder explained that the original plans to add a splashpad have been adjusted to no longer include it. The decision to remove the splashpad
from the park plans was due to cost and the budget allotted for the park. Now, the park is complete and the foundation that owns the property will be turning it over to the City of Howe.
