"This was a rebuilding year more or less, as we had a lot of new faces join the team. Several had previous experience, and a few improved their skill throughout the season and have hopefully put themselves in a position to lead the team next year. Kudos to Mike Mori, Luis Lopez and JJ Weidner for three hard fought and dedicated years of the hardest training in all of sports."

Major Tim Cook made seve ral g reat accomplishments throughout his lifetime. It began with his li f e changing decision in June 1969 to become a private in the United Sates Marine Corps. With the 1st marine division he served two tours in Vietnam and went on many other assignments including Japan, Thailand, Korea , the Philippines, Hawaii, and California, but was honorably discharged in November 1976. His military career did not end here, in June of 1978 he joined the Army National Guard and went on to Officer Candidate School in October 1980 where he was commissioned as a 2nd Lt. in the infantry. He served in many different positions including Platoon Leader, X.O. and C.O. In 1999 he left the active guard duty and joined the Army Reserves retired, he also came out of it all winning the purple heart. Besides his great triumphs in the military he was also an active member of the Indiana American Legion #215, the Eagles Lodge #1314, and enjoyed reading, golfing, playing pool, and watching NASCAR. He was also a long time fan of Notre Dame and the Oakland Raiders, but spent the most time following the IU basketball team. Although he loved his military service and valued everything he had, he valued and loved his family the most. His memory lives on through his wife of nine years, Janice, his two daughters, Angela and Kimberly, and his three sons, Kevin, Chris, and Doug. His service to his country and to Howe Military School will never be forgotten. Most of the young men he watched over as their T.O. would not have made it through without him. He is remembered b all he came in contact with.

"Major Cook was a man of many facets. He served in the military with honor and distinction, and as a T.O. at HMS was loved as a father by his Delta boys. He was hardworking and dedicated to Howe. He was a man with a contagious laugh and smile, and most of all he was our friend. He will be greatly missed. 11
-Mrs. Nancy Douglass-
I had the pleasure of working closely with Tim for the past year and a half and he was not only a great coworker, he was also a good friend. I will miss his 11 hola! 11 greeting every morning and listening to conservative talk radio with him everyday 11
-Mr. Bouma-
I'm Free
Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free I'm following the path God laid for me, I took His hand when I heard him call 1 I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day To laugh, to love, to work and play.
1 Tasks left undone must stay that way. I found that peace at the close of day. If my parting has left a void Then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss. Ah yes, these things, I too will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow. I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life's been full, I savored much. Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief, Don't lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your heart and share with me God wanted me now, he set me free.
-Author Unknown
"Maj Cook was a person who embraced the concept of service. We see this in his service to his country as a Marine and as an officer in the Army. We also see this in his service to Howe and we see this in his service to the young people with whom he came in contact. His legacy to us is, "Do what is necessary to improve yourself and to improve those around you. 11
