This Tatler is more than printed pages, clever sayings, and photographs. It is a record of memories- your memories- the memories you hold both individually and in common as cadets of HMS. I sincerely hope the memories are pleasant ones, ones you will cherish for the remainder of your life. You have received an education that will serve you well. May health, happiness, and success be with you throughout your life.

As President Reagan challenged the nation in a State of the Union address, he commented, "As a nation, we are not getting older and weaker but younger and stronger." As you look back on your experiences at HMS, realize what you have learned and how those experiences have helped to prepare you for the future. Look to the future, gain from your experiences. Become part of this nation that is growing "younger and stronger." I wish you success in all your endeavors.
