This year, the yearbook staff thought long and hard trying l find the perfect theme for our book. We finally came up wit "118 years to get it right". We have put a lot of hard work in the yearbook, trying to make everything relate to the theme This year we came up with an introduction to the theme, sc will now (finally) be understood. The theme is what puts th whole book together. Notice how on the cover we have 118 written out with the corps. Also, the mixture of old picures and new pictures shows the years between then and now. You will notice things that relate to the theme throughout U book.

Whether he is stealing fo od from the cadets in the mess hall , or serenading everyone in the school building, you are bound to notice Col David Douglass.

David Douglass was once a Howe Cadet. He came to HMS in 1S and graduated in 1960. In the duratic his three years he achieved the ran K Sergeant Major. When asked wha tr fondest memory of Howe was, iron ic it was graduation; getting out of Also, standing on the review stand looking out at all of the corps

"Everyone loves Col. D! He is the one that makes thisschool truly fun. You can't have a frown on your face whenever he is around."

"I have only seen Col. D. get mad once. That is the only time that I ever hope to see it. I think the humorous Col. D. is the only side of him that I need to see."

"I was scared of him at first. I had never met anyone like him in my life! Now I have come to look forward to listening out for his silly songs."

junior rote-the army's service to america

Junior ROTC is an elective high school course taught by military personnel at selected private and public high schools in the United States and its territories. It is also taught abroad through the Department of Defense Dependents School System, which primarily serves the dependents of military personnel stationed overseas.

At Howe Military School, cadets in grades nine through twelve must take JROTC. Cadets learn a variety of subjects through one program. Some of these subjects include Leadership, Communication, and improving Learning Skills. We also offer additional activities for the cadet outside of the classroom. Some of the activities offered in the JROTC program include Rifle Team, Drill Team, Raiders and a Master's Program.
