Beat the heat
• Remember to wear a hat and bring sunscreen.
• Find some shade within the cooling zone in Tent City north of Vendor Village.
• Water stations will be located at all event areas, clerking tent, and finish line for athletes.
• Stay hydrated. Water will be available for purchase at all four corners of the stadium.
Tent City
Tent City is a designated, grassy area located directly north outside of the stadium.
Please Note: Tents, umbrellas, tarps, and other shading devices larger than 30” will not be permitted into the stadium.
• It is a first come, first served basis.
• Both entrances to the stadium will provide easy access to Tent City.
• Opens at 12pm starting July 25. Will open 30 minutes before the gates open and stay open an hour after the competition ends each day.
• Tops of tents will need to be removed each night.
• Security will be roaming the premises.
• Tents left overnight are not the responsibility of AAU, Harris County - Houston Sports Authority, or Humble ISD.
Coolers
All coolers and bags are subjected to search when entering the stadium. Only coolers 50 quarts or less will be allowed in the stadium.
• Anything larger than 50 quarts should be taken to Tent City.
Official Merchandise Locations
Merchandise locations will be located outside of Clerking (Baseball Field), Vendor Village (North Side of Turner Stadium), near the home entrance by Results, and underneath the Vistor Grandstand.
Concessions
Concessions are located inside Vendor Village (North Side of Turner Stadium), and inside Turner Stadium (Located at each corner of the stadium).
Registration Location
Located inside Lakeland Elementary School Cafeteria. Entrance is nearest to the registration parking lot.
Awards Location
Award ceremonies will be located inside the gym behind Southwest concession stand near the finish line.
Results Location
Results will be located at the Home side of the stadiun, underneath press box.
Lost & Found
Lost and found is located in Lakeland Elementary School, at registration. It will be open and accessible during posted registration hours. Lost items will be donated after the last day of competition, August 3. AAU and the Houston Local Organizing Committee are not responsible for items lost or stolen.
Medical
Medical staff will be onsite and available at the Home Admission Gate. If medical assistance is needed, please notify the nearest uniformed medical, staff member or security personnel to address all medical needs.
Security
All AAU Junior Olympic Games’ facilities maintain the right to search any bags, backpacks, purses, jackets, etc. throughout the duration of the event. Prohibited items will be posted at the entrance. Security will be continuously roaming the premises and present at all times. If assistance from security is needed, please notify the nearest staff member or security officer.
Credentials & Ticketing
Wristbands or credentials are required at all times for all guests to enter each venue. Those without the proper event wristband or credential will not be admitted in the venue. Damaged or lost wristbands are not valid for entry or exchange.
ATHLETES & COACHES
• Athletes & Coaches will receive wristbands or credentials upon registration check-in. Wristbands or credentials must be worn throughout the entire length of the event. If an athlete or coach loses a wristband, another must be purchased at the regular admission cost. With your credentialed wristband, you will receive admission to all competition venues and the Celebration of Athletes.
SPECTATORS
• Spectators may purchase wristbands at ticket booth locations per day for $20. Weekly wristbands are available for $50. Admission is free for kids ages 3 and under.
Shuttle Parking Instructions
Overflow parking will be at the Humble Civic Center and a shuttle will take you to Turner Stadium.
• Turn left on Old Humble Rd.
• Then turn right into the parking lot.
• There will be signage out at the parking lot leading to the shuttles.
• Shuttle services are available from 6:30 a.m. until 8 p.m. or 1 hour after competition ends each day.
