A “school on the rise, filled with excitement.” - First Things journal November 2010
If you’re looking for a college experience you will value for the rest of your life, we invite you to take a look at HBU. We offer what few others can: a Christian university in a world-class city, with the highest academic standards informed by a biblical perspective. Turn the next page and see how we are preparing young people like you to become part of the next generation of FAITHFUL LEADERS.
A Community of Friends, Faith & Scholarship At HBU, we believe that learning and preparing for life aren’t confined to the classroom. Our religiously and ethnically diverse student body will present you with opportunities to engage with different cultures and ways of thinking, and our living spaces and student life experiences are designed to foster the development of meaningful and long-lasting relationships. It’s all part of helping you achieve the transformative intellectual, social and spiritual growth that is necessary for you not only to excel in your chosen field but also to succeed at life in an ever-changing world.
A Classical Approach to Academic Excellence “The first duty of a university is to teach wisdom, not a trade; character, not technicalities. We must learn to support ourselves, but we must also learn how to live.” Winston Churchill’s words capture precisely what our Liberal Arts Core Curriculum is designed to do, by bringing together the best and noblest ideas from our JudeoChristian, Greco-Roman legacy. Our unique core will challenge you to think critically and creatively, gaining not just knowledge, but true understanding. Working with our accomplished scholars as you wrestle with books that have shaped our understanding of humanity and the universe will help you to live with greater purpose and responsibility. And for those who want to dig a little deeper, our Honors College may be the perfect home.
A Division I Experience Huskies study hard and play hard. When you need a break from the books, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to rally around your peers and celebrate the achievements of HBU’s 15 men’s and women’s intercollegiate varsity teams. Competing in NCAA Division I allows Huskies to face nationally recognized teams and play at the highest level. Baseball
