What to Expect on Your First Day

We are excited you are taking the first step to joining the Bark Park pack! During this time, your pup is being introduced to the other dogs in daycare. The trained staff is assessing their body language and comfort level in our fun, exciting environment! Your pup will meet lots of new friends (furry and human), enjoy amenities, relax during naptime break, and be health checked three times while in our care.

By Appointment It is important to note that your evaluation is set for time you selected and is by appointment only. We offer a 15-minute grace period but do require rescheduling past that allotted time.

Full day required Pick up for your pup's first day will be between 4:00p-7:00p.

Cameras will be off from 11:15a - 1:30p for our naptime. All cameras can be viewed on our website! Please select your location and enjoy!

A report card will be provided at the end of the day with details on your pup's visit.

If at any point we feel your dog is not enjoying their experience or is displaying any discomfort, we will reach out to speak with you. However, never hesitate to call us for an update on your pup!!!

Vaccine information and proof of neuter/spay (if older than six months) We require the shot records before or during evaluations. We cannot conduct the evaluation without these records. Your dog will not be evaluated unless we have received these. We cannot call clinics to verify vaccine history, as most vets will not release information without authorization.

Naptime: We conduct a naptime for all dogs from 11:15a to 1:30p. Naptime provides the dogs time to rest after a full morning of play. We turn off all the lights, play calming music, and a daycare attendant supervises the sleeping pups. Many of our customers stay with us for full days and greatly benefit from a cool down period. During this time, employees are also out to lunch apart from those working through the naptime period with the pups.

Feeding We have one midday mealtime at 1:30 pm. While we do offer breakfast for our overnight guests, we do not have a morning mealtime for dogs attending daycare. Puppies (one year and younger) receive lunch for free.

Adult dogs (over a year) can also be fed for a $5.00 fee. All dogs are required to rest for a minimum of one hour (and longer depending on the breed and size of the dog) and this cuts into their daycare day. We have found most adult dogs are uninterested in eating a midday snack because of the excitement of daycare.

Academy program More information regarding the daily schedule can be found on our website https://www.houstonbarkpark.com/academy Attendance: Must attend daycare once per 3 months (four times a year)to remain active in our daycare program. If your pup has not seen us for daycare in 3 months, then they will need to schedule a re-evaluation. A re-evaluation will be similar to their first day, with a scheduled appointment time. There will not be an evaluation fee, and it will be charged as a regular day of daycare. ​ No Show: Free play daycare and boarding reservations not cancelled by 10:00 am the day of will incur a $25.00 fee Academy reservations not cancelled by 10:00 am the day of will incur a $35.00 fee Uniform Must have their HBP issued dog tag on their collar/harness/leash. We use these tags to scan in their belongings.

Parents must also scan their pups in and out with a separate set of tags. We recommend keeping a set of tags on a key ring or taking a photo of the tags and using the photo to scan.

Energy Corridor Location

Packing Food: To comply with dietary restrictions, we require owners to bring their own food from home. It is required for food to be separated and labeled upon drop off for lodging. This allows us to save space and be as organized as possible when preparing your pup's meals. If food is not bagged, a $1.00 bagging fee will be charged per meal. In case of emergencies, Houston Bark Park will provide house kibble for $2.50 fee per/ up to a cup. Our house food is a grain inclusive sensitive stomach (salmon and rice) formula. Cans of wet food (same formula as kibble) are available for purchase for $4.00. We do have a refrigerator and freezer to accommodate frozen or refrigerated diets.

Packing Medications: We ask that you please pack medications separately from your pup's meals. We catalog all medications, create medication cards, and organize oral medications in pill boxes. We offer pill pockets, peanut butter, and wet food ($4 a can) to help administer medications. We do not administer medications that require injections.

Bedding: We encourage parents to bring small blankets, bedding, or clothing that smell like home for their pup. These blankets go on top of provided cots. For storage reasons, we only allow larger beds and bedding in our luxury suites.

Boarding Enhancers: Full days of daycare, daily report cards, evening snacks, and bathing services can be added at drop off.

Daycare Package Information Package days can be used to cover daycare during boarding. However, the additional overnight fee cannot be taken from a package and will be charged separately.

Human Friendly All dogs in our care should be tolerant of the staff. Our staff will be responsible for three daily health checks and should be able to touch all of the pups in our care. Overly human aggressive dogs (unable to be handled by staff) may not do well in this facility and are accepted under manager's discretion. If we are unable to safely care for your pup, they will be required to be picked up. Special handling fees will also apply.

Dog Friendly Our overnight boarding with potty breaks represents a great option for dogs that prefer their alone time and do not thrive in off-leash play. While not all dogs are required to attend daycare, they should all be dog tolerant and non aggressive. Overly aggressive dogs (unable to be near any other dogs) may not do well in this facility and are subject to manager's discretion. If we are unable to safely care for your pup, they will be required to be picked up. Special handling fees will also apply.

Overnight Boarding Information Continued Holidays Holidays and peak nights incur an additional $10.00 fee per dog. Please visit our Energy Corridor pricing page to view the most up to date holiday and peak days.

Lobbies will be closed on major holidays, but don’t worry - we are here for the pups.

Holiday boarding reservations cancelled within 24 hours will result in a $25 fee.

Holiday boarding reservation no shows will result in a 50% charge of the boarding stay.

They are able to participate in daycare when boarding if they are younger than six months. After six months of age, they are only eligible to board overnight with potty. breaks.

Unaltered Females: While we do not accept dogs in heat to check in for overnight boarding, we do recognize that a dog may come into heat cycle unexpectedly. If a dog enters its heat cycle while boarding with us, there are two options that exist: Option 1: Dog must be picked up by owner or emergency contact Option 2: If the owner does not elect to pick up the dog, there will be an additional daily $25 fee associated with the dog’s stay that must be paid at pickup.

All owners with unaltered females will need to sign a waver upon check in.

Grooming Information Grooming Drop Off To ensure all pups are given the attention and time they deserve, it is important that pups arrive at their scheduled time. Upon drop off, our groomers will provide an estimated pick up time and will call when your pup is fresh and ready to go home.

Grooming with Day Boarding: If your pup is dropped off over 15 minutes before their appointment time, or if they are picked up an hour after being called for pickup, a day boarding service will be added to the invoice. This service includes our team providing water and providing potty breaks.
