BIODEGRADABLE Did you know that products labeled as “biodegradable” require no certification? This means that the products do not have defined conditions or standards for breaking down. It can take an undetermined amount of time to break down and may leave micro-plastic waste behind. We can do better.

COMPOSTABLE Products labeled as compostable must decompose into natural elements within a specific time frame and must meet standards established by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM). The composting process will turn compostable packaging products into organic matter. This leaves behind no plastics or chemicals. However, did you know that only 27% of the US population has access to a compost bin? Consequently, most people can’t even compost even if they wanted to.

We can do better.

RECYCLED Recycled bags are made from post-consumer and/or post-industrial recycled plastic. These bags are fully recyclable themselves. However, new research has shown that recycling isn’t as eco-friendly as we once believed. It was discovered that the recycling process creates 29,000 dump trucks of microplastics per year in the United States alone. Also, chemical additives used in the recycling process are associated with serious health impacts. Consequently, the recycling process is creating a different and potentially worse problem.

ABOUT PVA Polyvinyl alcohol, PVA, is a odorless, colorless synthetic polymer discovered by a Nobel Laureate in the early 1920s. Environmental Working Group (EWG) gives PVA a score of 1. It’s generally recognized as safe by the FDA and even considered safe to eat. PVA is strong, flexible, and resistant to grease, solvents, and oil. Thanks to all that and the fact that PVA is water soluble and biodegradable, it’s been used in a variety of personal care, medical, household, and industrial applications. It is a sustainable, zero waste alternative to plastic bags.

Plastic pollutes the ocean long before we use it.

It is harmful throughout its entire life cycle, from its production and use, to its disposal. Around 9 million tonnes of plastic waste get into the ocean every year. Millions of marine animals die because they mistake the plastics for food or get entangled in it. By making more sustainable choices together, we can create a healthier planet for us all.

The Pure Pouch dissolves in hot water (70-80°C) in only a few minutes.

Also, it also dissolves in cold water, just at a slower rate.

No special equipment needed. All you need is water.

EEQ Tests: Printed using only eco-friendly ink containing no heavy metals or ketone.

FTIR analysis also shows that it doesn't contain PP, PE, PS, PVC plastic.

ASTM D6400 (US) and EN13432 (EU): certified compostable.

ASTM D5511: 85% degradation within 90 days under landfill conditions.
