Legacy Building

We are well on our way to relieving the burden from the backs of your future children, grandchildren and greats, beloved. Thank you for the work you are putting, or will put, into healing the planet from wherever you are. It's never too late and never too early if you ask me. But this isn't about me! It's about the beautiful strides we will make together, as a collective with a shared mission + vision. On that note, we've been laying a solid foundation so far, brick by brick so no wolf can come along and blow your house down. So far, I have mentioned legacy in various chapters with different framing and here, I want to make space to make sure there are some things you begin to do and look into so that all the hard work you've been putting in to build up your business, empire, reputation, brand, organization or family fund does not dissolve once you transition to become an ancestor. I know all too well how many of us are NOT having these conversations so I wanted to plant a seed here so that you have a starting point to doing your planning now so that you can reverse engineer how to get there and sleep well at night knowing that your family, assets and good name will live on even after you are gone. THAT is peace!

If you already have a family financial advisor or someone who is reviewing your insurance policies, assets, investments or savings plan, take this list to them to review together (or with your notes) and add to this as needed:

BUILDING, PROTECTING + PRESERVING YOUR LEGACY:

If you are a CEO or own a business, do you have Key Person Insurance policy on yourself?

Do you have a life insurance policy? If so, do you know the benefits, which type and if it has a cash value?

Are your children, spouse, home or debts insured?

Have you written out a Will & Testament?

Have you selected and named a Power of Attorney?

If you own a business, do you have an EIN #; Certificate of Assumed Name; legal status; Duns & Bradstreet #; professional email; phone (not a cell); non-resident mailing address; 411 listing; and registered with NAV? You'll need it all for credibility.

Have you taken steps to protect your ideas + property?

Do you have all of your important documents compiled and easy to grab in case of fire or flood?

Does your family have emergency plan/phone tree?

If you can no longer make decisions, who is next in line?
