On Friday, February 3 Edison Farrow presented the grand opening of “Heaven,” South Beach’s new gay nightclub. The club features rotating DJs, my friend Marco Perez, and his dancers, and lots of fun. Check it out every Friday and Saturday starting at 11pm.

On Saturday, February 4, Hotspots/ Happening Out presented the 2nd annual: “The Cookout: A Black History Month Celebration” at Mickel Park. Over 200 people showed up to The Cookout, which featured food, music, games, Spades & Domino’s with cash prizes, and tons of fun.

Later that night, Hunters Nightclub presented the World AIDS Museums Red Dress, Dress Red Gala at the Design Center of the America’s (DCOTA). The night was hosted by Velvet LeNore and featured dancing, food, live entertainment, and lots of people in Red!

On Monday, February 6, Compass Community Center presented the annual Miss Palm Beach Pride Pageant at the

Lakeworth Playhouse. The pageant was hosted by the Queen of the Palm Beaches Velvet Lenore and the First Lady of the Palm Beaches Melissa St. John, and honored Miss Palm Beach

Pride 2022, Crystal Ross LePaige. A special congrats to the new Miss Palm Beach Pride: Vasti Love Montana!

On Sunday, February 12, Ed Lugo Resort presented a Pool Party for James Tyrcha, Mr. Ramrod 2023 for his IML Travel Fund hosted by Doggie James and Cupid Ken. Later that day we went up and down the drive to celebrate the Superbowl!

PRIDE OF THE AMERICA’S

Pride of the America’s presented by Visit Lauderdale started on Friday February 10 when Pride Fort Lauderdale and Wilton Manors Entertainment Group in association with Alibi, Hunters, The Wilton Manors Business Association, and Sterling Accounting presented “Pride on the Drive” in the Shoppes of Wilton Manors from 6-11pm. On the Alibi side it was a Pridefete takeover with Caribbean Music and Talent, Food Trucks, and Masquerade Dancers. On the Hunters side, they featured the talents of Thunderpuss which drew an amazing crowd!

On Saturday, the parade started at 12 noon, with the festival going from 1-9pm at Las Olas Promenade Park and featured DJ’s Manny Lehman and Paulo and the headliner at 7:30pm was the one and only Boy George. In addition, there was lots of vendor booths, food trucks, libations, and nonstop entertainment from open to close. Later that night the official after-party took place at The Manor Complex. In The Crystal Ballroom they featured DJs Isis Muretech and Ana Paula and

Noche Latina Saturdays featured resident DJ Duniel Juan with special guest, from RuPaul’s Drag Race, Puerto Rican Jessica Wild as well as performances by Yeisa Jovovich and Oscar Novva. This was an incredible party!

On Sunday, they ended the weekend in association with Midland Family and Can Community Health and presented Pride Splash T Dance Pool Party at Rock Bar Day Club starring DJs Deanne and Alex Acosta and hosted by Prince Triila. A really fun event to end Pride of the Americas.
