Mayor Buddy Dyer is a man with passion, since the creation of Hotspotorlando we decided it was important to show our community how was the political and social economic engine, and that lead us to the City of Orlando.

I remember the first time I actually interacted with Mayor, was in a City program at the Public Library in downtown Orlando. The kids were all over him and he actually had conversations with them about the books. He got me there.

We choose our leaders, and our heroes, hoping they will not fail us.

I was never wrong about Mayor, he has not disappointed me once, he is a man among many, with an incredible will.

Mayor Dyer has a vision of Orlando, in that vision the City Beautiful, was not what it is today, because it came through this journey in a path built by his wisdom. A vision he shared with others, and they came, and it is all here, layed in our feet. The future is here, waiting for us.

Pick your battles well, make sure you can win them, most of all that you have the forces necessary to fight, but not to be consumed by it.

There is no excuse for domestic violence, and we must raise our voices against it. It is not something we look the other way and go on pretending it doesn’t exist. It is right there! In our neighbor’s house, friends, and in the many unknown faces we encounter.

Be aware, listen, look for the signs.

REVOLUÇÃO SOCIAL Campanha de comunicação mundial da United Colors of Benetton para o Dia Internacional das Nações Unidas contra a violência domestica.

Uma mulher “apedrejada” com pétalas de flores por um grupo de homens.

Esta é a imagem simbólica, forte e desconcertante, da nova campanha da United Colors of Benetton, criada para apoiar a UN Women - órgão das Nações Unidas que promove a igualdade de gênero e a emancipação feminina, por ocasião do Dia Internacional da ONU contra a violência exercida sobre as mulheres, no próximo dia 25 de novembro.

Ao escolher a inversão do cliché “em mulher não se bate nem mesmo com uma flor”, a United Colors of Benetton e a UN Women dizem basta, com determinação e poesia, a todas as formas de discriminação e abuso, lembrando a todos através de uma campanha mundial, com fotografias e vídeos on-line, publicados pela imprensa escrita internacional e na mídia social - lembrando que as mulheres já não têm de pagar com o desconforto, o sofrimento ou a vida, a escolha de serem elas mesmas e não o que os seus parceiros masculinos, a religião ou a sociedade gostariam que elas fossem.

O objetivo da campanha da United Colors of Benetton, concebida e criada pela Fabrica, pretende ainda sensibilizar o mundo para a necessidade de intervir no sistema de apoio às mulheres e investir em programas de prevenção, formando rapazes e raparigas com vista à construção de uma nova cultura baseada no reconhecimento, no respeito pela diferença e na verdadeira igualdade de oportunidades.

ORLANDO MAGIC TEAMS UP COM LEVY RESTAURANTES NO DIA DE AÇÃO DE GRAÇAS COM A COALIZÃO PARA OS DESABRIGADOS

Uma tradição de 22 anos que reflete “o núcleo do que somos como organização e o que somos” o Orlando Magic se uniu com a Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida na quinta-feira para colocar comida na barriga e um sorriso no rosto das crianças.

MAGIC PLAYER WILLIE GREEN SERVING FOOD TO THE COALITION RESIDENTS.

O GM do Magic Rob Hennigan e o Head Coach Jacque Vaughn descreveram como aquele momento era a própria definição do Dia de Ação de Graças. Trata-se de não só ser grato pelo que você tem, mas também estar disposto a dar àqueles que mais precisam. Isso é algo que a organização Magic realmente vive.

Hennigan e Vaughn ainda disseram que não havia outro lugar que gostariam de passar a manhã do dia de Ação de Graças do que no abrigo ajudando aqueles que precisam.

Reunidos com a Coalizão e a Corporação Levy restaurantes para alimentar e entreter mais de 700 desabrigados, entre homens, mulheres e crianças. Aproximadamente 125 funcionários do Magic serviram um breakfast com ovos, linguiça, bacon, batatas, biscuits, sucos e café para todos que fizeram fila da porta ate a esquina da rua do novo salão de jantar da Coalizão para os desabrigados. E a manhã de dar não parou por aí, como as dançarinas do Magic fizeram um carnaval para as crianças, o salão escola Paul Mitchell deu cortes de cabelo gratuitos e a Radio 104.5 The Beat estava presente com música para os presentes.

O evento foi apenas mais um esforço por parte do Magic na luta para acabar com a falta de moradia na área de Central Florida. Nos últimos quatro anos, o Magic presenteou $ 5 milhões para a causa dos desabrigados e eles continuam a ser líderes em fazer a diferença na comunidade Central Florida.

The Magic have played the NBA’s toughest schedule so far, leading the league in both games played (17) and road games (10). And the team was scheduled to leave town later on Thanksgiving night for a 10day, six-game road trip. Still, Green and all of the coaching staff devoted their time on Thursday to help bring others happiness.

“It’s great for them to take time out of their day to help out,” Vaughn said.

“We talk all of the time about wins and losses, but there is a real life component here that we need to be appreciative of also.”

Seattle-based Nordstrom, Inc. today announced plans to open a Nordstrom Rack at 1600 Commons in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The 36,000-square-foot store is sche duled to open in fall 2016.

Lave o lombo rapidamente com água fria. Esfregue toda a carne com o limão e enxugue com papel toalha. Com uma faca fina e amolada, faça um furo longo no centro da carne no sentido do comprimento.

omo o mercado Paris em França e Europa com o seu trabalho?

Na França, lamento dizer, mas o mercado está bloqueado! Cada tentativa de um novo pacote de estímulo econômico, há um novo anúncio desmoralizando compradores! Assim, as únicas oportunidades de vendas estão com preços baixos; é por isso que comecei a criar embutidos canetas de madeira entre 40 € e 100 €, em média, o mesmo para pequenos cartões embutidos para o deleite de todas as pessoas que têm a oferecer pequenos presentes, como a aproximação do Natal.

Você promove cursos? Como se transfere este conhecimento baseado em materiais de extrema sensibilidade?

Sim, eu ainda ensino marchetaria. Paris é perto de Orleans à Ingré através de associações artísticas. É quase a terapia da arte para algumas pessoas, porque é um trabalho que exige muita demanda na precisão do corte, concentração total, e cada técnica exige respeitar cada fase de usinagem. É um trabalho difícil, mas eu diria que é um pouco como a música porque eu toco guitarra, o primeiro dia temos contato com madeira como com o instrumento musical, e depois, pouco a ele doma pouco para que ele saiba o melhor que puder!

Eu ainda estou muito satisfeito com os meus alunos em seus avançosno resultado dos trabalhos- O cuidado que transmitem e respeito por este conhecimento me permitem nunca me arrepender de ter dado este passo!

Que mensagem pode ser dada para a pessoa que pensa que trabalhem regularmente no mercado europeu e quais os seus sonhos com sua arte?

Ser artista hoje é e será sempre para alguns, uma quimera que só pode existir em um sonho! Eu sempre pensei que quem quisesse podia! Tudo é uma questão de vontade! Je rencontré Pascal de mes pérégrinations sur le marché de l’art à Paris et moi charmé par sa simplicité technique et le travail accompli. Nous sommes devenus amis et nous pourrions ne jamais cesser de partager la richesse de son travail et disponibilité passer leurs techniques pour de nouveaux artistes dans le monde et son art d’un intérêt particulier pour les collectionneurs. Voici ma gratitude pour croire en son art.

COMMENT ONT DÉBUTÉ TES PREMIÈRES RENCONTRES AVEC TON ACTIVITÉ D’ARTISTE? Ce qui m’a ouvert la voie fût mon apprentissage pour le travail du bois, en faisant de la menuiserie puis de l’ébénisterie. Par la suite j’ai découvert la marqueterie seulement quand je suis arrivé à Paris pour continuer mes études.

J’ai été en admiration devant ce travail et tout de suite j’ai su que c’était ça que je voulais faire!

Et je suis devenu artiste marqueteur pour continuer à faire de la marqueterie, car il fallait y passer beaucoup de temps et je ne pouvais pas l’associer avec une autre activité plus rémunératrice!

QUELLE TYPES DE MATÉRIAUX ET ARTS COMPOSENT TA PRODUCTION? Le matériaux de base est le bois sous forme de placage, je travaille avec 150 variétés de bois de provenance du monde entier.

Je voyage avec mes bois au delà des couleurs des moirages et des odeurs! Les plus communs sont le sycomore européen, le moujingue moiré d’Afrique, le bois grage rose appelé aussi Louro Faia est un bois incroyablement maillé et de couleur rose,... Ma production est une variante entre la marqueterie du 17e siècle et l’art de la composition contemporaine remise au goût du jour, par des techniques nouvelles.

COMMENT EST LE MARCHE PARISIEN, EN FRANCE ET EN EUROPE AVEC TON TRAVAIL? En France, je regrette de devoir le dire, mais le marché est bloqué! A chaque tentative d’une nouvelle relance économique, il y a une nouvelle annonce qui démoralise les acheteurs! Donc les seules possibilités de ventes se font avec des petits prix; c’est pour cela que j’ai débuté la création de stylos en bois marquetés entre 40€ et 100€ en moyenne, idem pour des petites cartes marquetés qui font le bonheur de tous les gens qui ont à offrir des petits cadeaux comme à l’approche des fêtes de Noël.

QUELLE MESSAGE TU PEUX DONNER A LA PERSONNE QUI PENSE TRAVAILLER RÉGULIÈREMENT SUR LE MARCHE EUROPÉEN ET QUELS SONT TES RÊVES AVEC TON ART? Etre artiste aujourd’hui est et restera toujours pour certains, une chimère qui ne peut exister qu’en rêve! Moi j’ai toujours pensé que celui qui voulait, il pouvait! Tout reste une question de volonté! Actuellement la crise est là, mais tout n’est pas noir pour autant; les artistes se soutiennent et il faut aller vers eux; il y a toujours de la place pour de nouveaux arrivants!

Mon plus grand rêve, serait de créer un immense espace, où chaque artiste tout azimut, pourrait venir exposer gratuitement et dans d’excellentes conditions! Também foi a vez dos desenhos animados e pu blicidade, arranjei trilhas infantis, a Turma da Mônica, Jaspion e Fofão. O Jingle para Campanha pu blicitária da Coca Cola de 2 litros–Embalagem retornável da MCannerickson recebeu o XV Prêmio Colunistas Rio de Janeiro – 1996. Também arranjei vinhetas de programas de televisão, o Gente Inocente. Participei do Musidisk/ Musicamp (87/88), Som Pop da Tv Cultura e Almoço com as Estrelas. Integrei o staff arranjando e diri gindo trilhas de novelas.

E quanto aos seus trabalhos, quantos Cd’s você gravou?

Segundo o ECAD produzi mais de 8.000 faixas de vários artistas, nem eu sabia que foram todas essas!

Vendi em torno de 100 milhões de Cd’s. Quanto a músicas de minha autoria já gravei uma série de 5 CDs de musica brasileira instrumental e Jazz de maneira independente, pelo meu selo. O Sexto CD é de trilhas para cinema “Flashes de Instantes”, contei com a presença de Abraham Laboriel e Luiz Carlos de Paula em algumas fai xas. Em 2004, gravei um Cd pela EMI Internacional Brazilian Bossan’ Bass, projeto que mistura Bossa Nova ao Drum´n´Bass!

Em 2005 lancei o primeiro CD da Banda do Domingão com Schiavon do RPM: Músicas Românticas –Som Livre, em 2006 o In Love, com músicas românticas internacionais, arranjadas por mim e Bocato.

Fizemos o “Dança no Gelo” e o “Dança dos Famosos” da som livre com temas tocados durante os concursos nos quadros de dança aos Domingos na TV Globo.

Quais foram seus trabalhos mais recentes?

Vou tentar lembrar de alguns dos últimos anos. Fiz a produção do último CD “ Canto” de Tania Maria na Gravodisc em São Paulo, para quem não sabe ela mora em Paris há anos! Terminei uma Peça sinfônica “Os orixás” que está toda escrita e penso em gravar com a Orquestra de Praga, fiz arranjos sinfônicos no cd novo de Aline Barros.

Fiz Shows nos EUA com a cantora Patty Ascher nas Universidades Americanas e grandes clubes de jazz como o Blue Note de New York, Lowe’s, Vitelli’s e Yoshi’s. Estive no Telethon americano apresentado por Jerry Lewis, regendo a Orquestra de Los Angeles. Fiz arranjos para jazz sinfonica Arte Viva para grandes artistas nacionais e internacionais como Dominguinhos e John Pizzarelli . Fiz a direção musical dos 25 anos de Roberta Miranda e o DVD dos 25 anos do Só pra Contrariar com Alexandre Pires e Gloria Estefan. Gravei um “memorabilla” das músicas do Chico Buarque e Francis Hime no MIS ( Museu da Imagem e do Som) Chamei a cantora Suellen Graciano para cantar, foi bem bonito! Gravei os CD’s da Irmã Miria Koolling, fiz arranjos de algumas faixas

Marco Pontes, Maestro Caixote, as he is known.

He earned this nickname by his father and he was then known by everyone in the music business.

Born in Presidente Prudente in 1962 with a taste for music since childhood.

How did you acquire a taste for music?

From early. I was 8 years old, I began studying drums with Nene drummer who played with Hermeto Pascoal, Elis Regina, Milton Nascimento.

At age 10 began studying piano with my father Alui zio Pontes. He made me switch from drums to the piano, and I learned to love it. In fact I come from a musical family!

My father and my uncles, all play an instrument and arrange songs for great names in the Brazilian music scene!

Who influenced you the most, and who are your favorite musicians?

I like good music, have a refined ear, there are so many musicians, so many people, but I will name some: Villa Lobos, Tom Jobim, Enio Morricone, John Williams, Michel Colombier, Oscar Peterson, Bill Evans and my father.

Who do you ever played in the last 40 years you’ve dedicated to music ?

This list will be huge, and I

may still forget some, but I started with Ball Bands like the Modern Tropical Quintet and the Brazilian Show. And my first job with musical director and arranger was in “The Alley” (O Beco) in 1979, imagine that I worked with Peri Ribeiro & Susana Vieira, Watuzi and Abelardo Figueiredo! Big names!

Monica’s Gang, Jaspion and Fofão. Jingles, advertising campaigns for Coca Cola, The 2 liter returnable-Packaging of MCannerickson received the XV Columnists Award Rio de Janeiro - 1996.

Also arranged vignettes for television programs, the Innocent People. Participated in the Musidisk / Musicamp (87/88), Sound of Pop Culture TV and Lunch with the Stars. I joined the staff arranging and directing novels soundtracks. (Mandacaru, Terra Nostra, Mad Maria, Ana Ray & Joe Thunder, The King of Cattle-ORei do Gado).

Peri Ribeiro liked me and invited me in 1980 to direct his show with singer Claudya at the Madison Square Garden in NYC, USA. In 1982 I started the studio recordings and never stopped. What was your most recent work?

I’ll try to remember some of the recent years. I made the production of the last album “Canto” for Tania Maria atGravodisc in São Paulo, for those unaware she has lived in Paris for years. It’s not easy, the process is complicated: First you have to have good music, easy commercial appeal, a good music production, good studio, good musicians and a good investment in radio disclosure, television and social media. it is a very hard process.

To commemorate the launch of photographer Kenneth Willardt’s first art book, The Beauty Book (teNeues, Fall 2014), the Danish-born artist will mount an exhibition of his work at 558 Gallery in Chelsea, New York.
