Perth Pannita Boonpongsa, is a Thai who has spent much time in the Philippines where she first learned and fell in love with Scuba diving. She is now working to use the knowledge she learned in the field of public administration as well as the law to develop her own business at home.

She has also started a project called “At The End, Love The Earth, Then Earth Will Love Us Back,” to highlight that even though all our consciousness vary, we have to learn to live on Earth together.

But what you might not know is that Maritozzi are seen throughout Italy as a sign of true love. These succulent desserts are often given by a husband (marito) to his wife as a daily reminder of their love.

Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok at Chao Phraya River resident Italian and Executive Chef Andrea Accordi wanted to share his love of Maritozzi with Bangkok. Accordi partnered with the Hotel’s new Executive Pastry Chef and fellow Italian Andrea Bonaffini to create elevated authentic Maritozzi.

“Over the last two years, I have found myself longing for an authentic Maritozzo,” says Accordi. “When back home in Italy, I often grab a few Maritozzi to bring home to my wife as a tradition to show our love to one another. So when Chef Bonaffini started, I knew our first project had to be an elevated version to share with our guests.”

The two Andreas quickly started testing recipes until they found the perfect combination. “The ideal Maritozzo needs to have a light brioche bun, filled with decadent sweet cream,” says Bonaffini. “Our Maritozzi have a beautiful airy bun, and we elevated our cream with the choice of Tahitian vanilla or the best Thai dark chocolate we could find.

The result will take you on a trip to the streets of Rome.”

“When our first batch of Maritozzi was finished, I knew we had something special,” says Accordi. “I took my first bite and immediately was transported back to Italy. Finally, I could enjoy an authentic maritozzo in Asia.”

137 Pillars House Launches New Grain Inspired Seasonal MICHELIN Plate Tasting Menu for Guests, Residents and Visitors to Chiang Mai The award-winning 137 Pillars House, a stunning 30-suite boutique hotel with a rich colonial past, has unveiled its new grain-themed seasonal Michelin Plate tasting menu, available from now until 31 December 2021.

Palette restaurant at 137 Pillars House was honoured to be awarded a Michelin Plate rating in the Michelin Guide Thailand 2020 and retained its “Michelin Plate” rating in the Thailand 2021 Guide.

She was born in Hertfordshire, schooled in Oxfordshire, England, and then predominantly brought up in Bahrain. Asia has been a huge part of Katharine’s life, having lived there for 16 years, and she designs many of her products using materials and artisans from that part of the world. She appreciates Asian art and artifacts, which are often subtly referenced in her interior designs. A prominent project of hers is the Cachet Boutique Zhejiang Racetrack Circuit in China which won the Hotel Under 200 Rooms Global 2019 International Hotel & Property Award. The innovative resort incorporates a bespoke, energetic, and contemporary aesthetic comprising of high-end materials, luxe

textiles found in luxury car design, and opulent finishes.

A great example of the sustainably influenced considerations is the Pearl Villa, a residential villa in Qatar masterminded by Katharine. Various sustainable finishes were utilised throughout, from gorgeous faux leathers to wall panels and faux shell embellishments and beautiful wallpapers that used recycled papers as their base.

Hand-painted silk wallpaper was also used for joinery fronts to minimize on timber veneers too.

Scottish Forter Castle Following a two-year renovation, Katharine completed the interior design and careful restoration of each of the rooms of Forter Castle, incorporating antique and historical touches to create a quintessentially Scottish feel. Collaborating with her father, Robert Pooley, Katharine, who has a passion for traditional architecture, believes whole-heartedly in its refurbishment and protection. Luxurious finishes and intricate detailing which add richness, yet comfort was Katharine’s guiding principle when embarking on this project.

Personal touches such as artworks, photographs, books, and antiques make the stay even more special for our guests, as it feels as though they are being welcomed into a characterful home. Each room at the castle has been named after Katharine’s siblings, which is where they have slept since childhood.

hether you call it Koh Kood or Ko Kut (both are correct), it’s easy to see why this is one of Thailand’s most loved tropical islands.

Known for its crystalline waters and incredibly vast shores of white powdery sand, it is what you would expect to see in a movie that takes place on an exotic paradisaic tropical island. Out of all the Thai islands, Koh Kood has been dubbed one of the most beautiful in the Kingdom. Relaxing is the predominate activity on this island, whose unspoiled nature and leisurely local lifestyle are the prime attractions.

Located in Trat, in the easternmost point of Thailand, near Cambodia and about 315 kilometres from the capital, Koh Kood is the fourth largest island in the country and the second biggest island in Trat Province after Koh Chang.

The island is 25 kilometers in length and 12 kilometers wide, covering nearly 105 square kilometers. Its characteristic highlights are mountains and fields where numerous streams begin and progress toward becoming waterfalls. A definite must-see for those who make it to this piece of paradise.

Early settlers of Koh Kood were Thais and Khmers who fled to the island when the French assumed control over the city of Padjantakiri in 1904.

Original island settlers lived in Klong Mad Village, whose inhabitants then, and still today, plant rubber and coconut trees as part of their subsistence along with fishing. The biggest village on the island is Ao Yai Village, where you’ll find many fishing boats taking shelter.

Furrowed fields have made way to numerous inland creeks, streams, and waterfalls. The Klong Chao Waterfall is likely the most amazing due to its size. With three levels, it enables guests to swim and bathe in the waters all year around. King Rama VI visited in 1911, and gave it the illustrious name “Anamkok Waterfall” in remembrance to Ong Chiang Lue, a Vietnamese ruler who sought shelter in the country amid the reign of King Rama I in the late eighteenth century.

While staying on the island, you can have a day trip to snorkel around the island or to nearby islands such as Koh Rang and its vicinities. You can also kayak along the coastal area or the Khlong Chao waterway. Along the River, you will see marine life around the dense mangrove forest area.

The Coastal street keeps running down the west side of the Island round toward the south and cuts over the island and through the wilderness, ending up in Aow Yai. The street is a blend of dirt roads, rough pavement, and newly cemented roads, making it an energizing and engaging course for mountain bikers. This course takes one past Bang Bao and the immaculate Siam shoreline, which is exceptionally enticing to swim in.

The street brings you down to another delightful shoreline called Klong Hin; this is where the beachfront begins. The way is steep most of the way up but gives you a stunning perspective of the shorelines – and on a sunny morning, it is possible to see Cambodia. This bluff edge way brings you down to a little angling town with a staggering shoreline called Baan Aow Pharo. At Baan Aow Pharo one begins to head inland and through numerous palm oil plantations (fields of tall coconut trees) and rubber plantations.

Aow Pharo, Bang Bao, and Siam Beach are probably the most flawless and confined shorelines you will find in the bay of Thailand.
