As we navigate these ever-changing times in the medical field, it is imperative that we stay committed to continuing education, advocacy, and honoring the dedicated physicians who serve our community. Our recent events have been a testament to this commitment. In March 2023, we held Part 2 of our virtual webinar series, titled “How to Sustain your Practice in Today’s Turbulent Times.” This session focused on “Steps to Fix Prior Auth: Headway Made, More To Do.” This event provided essential insights and strategies for tackling the challenges of prior authorizations, a common concern in our medical practices. Following a lengthy hiatus due to the pandemic, we resumed our in-person Membership and Business Meeting in April 2023. This event with over 55 attendees allowed us to come together, to learn, and to celebrate our members who have provided 50, 40, 25, and 10 years of medical service. PAMED President F. Wilson Jackson III, MD, attended to recognize the honorees and shed light on the broader healthcare landscape. In early October 2023, we had the pleasure of hosting several of our county’s state lawmakers at our legislative reception. Their interest in our advocacy issues and in developing rapport with Bucks CMS members speaks to the growing influence of our society. Later in October, Bucks CMS delegation members traveled to the House of Delegates in Hershey, PA, where they testified and voted on key physician issues, amplifying our voice on the state policymaking stage. One more exciting development is that Bucks County Medical Society member Arvind Cavale, MD, was elected PAMED Vice President. Looking ahead, I’m committed to enhancing our society’s engagement through our website and social media channels, to keep you informed and involved. We are working on a facelift to our current website, to provide you with a more user-friendly and exciting platform. As we enter the new year, let us continue to grow, learn, advocate, and support one another. Together, we will keep advancing the practice of medicine in Bucks County. Thank you for your dedication and commitment to the Bucks County Medical Society. Warm regards, Hannah H. Do, MD President, Bucks County Medical Society
